What do you do?
online tutoring for high-school and college students
Do you have a desired website screen size?
The max-width for a Facebook app is 760px, though we plan to repurpose the code as a stand alone website, too, so ideally it can expand to a 1024px screen, too.
How many pages (maximum of 5) do you need designed?
What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your website design
The primary demographic is high school and college age kids (roughly 15 - 25), both genders, in the US. Location and income is not a critical factor. The second demographic (and only slightly so) are the parents of these students.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your website design
Since teens and young adults use the site, it needs to be modern. It does not need to be youth-culture, i.e. MTV, but it needs to be attractive to the Facebook generation. Building upon the MTV point, parents need to see the site as professional and safe. Ultimately the site needs to communicate that students can very easily get cost effective help in any subject matter at any time of day from other students at top schools in America.
How is your company different from your competitors?
Our site offers instant access to high quality tutors at competitive prices. Our tutors match the quality of face-to-face tutors at Kaplan or Princeton Review yet at the convenience of a "push of a button".
Style and Concept
What website design styles do you like?
What colors do you want to see in your website design?
Black, or dark gray on White
Orange (Dutch national color)
What colors do you NOT want to see in your website design?
None that come to mind but we like a minimalist design without too many colors or unrelated elements on the page.
What adjectives should best describe your website design?
Modern / minimalist, san-serif, gradients, rounded (but not too rounded) corners, Facebook "compliant"
What content must be included in the website design?
Attached is a wireframe. It looks like more than five pages but in fact several pages will use the same template. What is missing from the wireframes is the home page and the registration form (but that is included in the count of five pages).
Do you have additional requirements or links you want to share?
The design MUST be CSS3 compliant and fit within the Facebook "chrome"; as such, please keep in mind that the user will see ads to his right and the standard Facebook navigation above. Ideally the designer has CSS experience and can generate the code for us.
