Brief for www.redskyvision.com
Red Sky Vision a Digital Communications Boutique
Remarkable, Passionate, Visibility, Innovation, New Media, Evangelists, Social Media, Digital Boutique, Communications, Marketing, Insight, Online, Software development, Future, Red Sky Thinking, Sticky, Videosite, Wordpress
We used to be just another corporate video production company but have evolved into a future thinking digital communications boutique. YES! We love anything to do with video, digital and anything Web 2.0 especially if it has a video angle. Yes were corporate comms, but with an exciting and innovative twist.
We are passionate about innovation, new ideas and tools that really make communicating easier and more effective. We believe that engaging video content combined with the scope of digital and social media will create a strong impact.
The new website will not only be a platform from which to promote our wares but will also provide an experience. The sole aim is for the viewer to feel as if they have been able to meet us. The keyword here is visibility. The new site will include feeds to Twitter, Facebook, Linked-in, Youtube, Myspace and many other social networking platforms the RSV will have a presence on.
The site must:
Be visible will offer transparency about who we are and what we do.
Be optimized for usability and reduction of clutter
Be effective at converting visitors to buyers and advocates (will share the site with friends)
Be presented in such a way that it appears impressive and dynamic (not too off the wall though). We want our customers to get excited about what we offer!
convey exceptional design so that people can feel the innovation, rather than us just telling them about it.
Feature video content on each page and not have too much copy
Show that RSV is evangelical about Video.
Make the RSV people into personalities to help the stickyness of the site.
Showcase RSV as a digital communications boutique.
The site will be based on a Wordpress platform and we are looking for a fresh design that conveys the new direction (in the Inspiration/Overview sections above). The branding needs to be based on the colour scheme used on the current site http://www.redskyvision.com. The logotype will not change but we are looking for a fresh approach to the overall design style.
We are looking for a designer who has extensive experience of producing templates and working on the Wordpress platform. A number of widgets need to integrated and the platform needs to be developed so that we can update and add these online tools later. Also we may have some coding work for the site in the future and ideally would like to use the theme designer to carry this out.
The rebranding needs to be versatile enough so it can be used with online and offline marketing(email signatures, adverts etc)
The homepage design needs to:
- Feature web 2.0 icons from Youtube/Myspace/LinkedIn/Facebook/Twitter
- Have the following links on the menubar: Home / Services / About us / Contact
- Use the flash video player mockup at dimensions as given
- Use the copy provided as introductory text
- Use the logotype and colour exactly as in the EPS provided. Feel free to use the wave element if you feel it adds to the design
- Please add a sidebar to the page with a feed element (eg Flikr widget etc)
- Use some of the the images provided at this link, as you see fit - http://www.mediafire.com/file/mdmzyzzzmf...
Noteworthy sites for comparison/inspiration:
http://www.imgspark.com/ - Love the way that websites are presented in the top right corner. Clean strong lines and minimal 'noise'. Screams High-end design. In 'Upoad tool's' section like the use of social mdia icons - Firefox, Mac etc
http://kyanmedia.com/ - Clear messaging within the copy. Blog is introduced onto the homepage really well
http://www.blkmtnstudio.com/ - Love the handwritten diagram! - Its clear and simple and conveys there service offerings in an organic way, I'd like to see that handwritten style somewhere on the new site design.
http://www.versionsapp.com/ - Authoritative look - strong, clean design
http://www.hugeinc.com/ - Strong colour scheme with pink text on white background
http://www.edit-studios.com/ - Minimal design, portfolio showcased in an immediate and direct way
http://www.harmonypark.net/ - clear design with great flash presentation in center (I like where the flash player is situated)
