Cricket Debt Counseling
What do you do?
Cricket Debt Counseling is a non-profit company providing a pre-bankruptcy credit counseling course for consumer bankruptcy filers. The course is taken online, with a one-on-one phone or email counseling session at the end. After the counseling process is completed the client receives a certificate of completion by email (PDF file) or fax. Clients are referred to our course by their attorney.
The client experience is in four parts: enrollment, course presentation, counseling, and post-completion.
During enrollment the client is asked for their name and contact information, their attorney's name and contact information, some security questions, and payment information. Clients may pay for the course with a code they get from their attorney, a credit/card or electronic check, or they may pay later at any time before their certificate is issued. Clients create an account by choosing a username and password.
Course presentation consists of approximately 90 pages of budget and credit information presented with optional audio narration. During the course presentation the client is asked to enter financial and budget informationdebts, income, and expenses. The information the client enters determines course content presented later.
Counseling is conducted by phone or email. A certified counselor reviews the client's financial and budget information before issuing the client's certificate.
After completing the course and receiving a certificate clients can log in to their account to review their budget and any email communication with our counselors.
