Adventures in Wisdom

What do you do?

AW Vision
Our vision is to inspire and empower kids to believe in themselves and their dreams by providing them with knowledge they can use to reach their fullest potential and live happy, fulfilling lives.

How do we deliver on our vision?
Adventures in Wisdom is a fun life coaching program for kids ages 8-14. Kids learn critical life skills for developing self-confidence and learning to achieve their goals.

The program is delivered through ebooks/workbooks which kids can self-study or work through with their parents (audio versions on the way. Longer term vision is to have online content and possibly ipad books). Kids "team up" with a character called Wyatt the Wise Wizard to learn each skill. Each skill book contains a short story in which Wyatt coaches the main character through the challenge s/he is facing. The lessons/skills are taught through the stories and follow up activities providing a learning without lecture format.

Do you have a desired website screen size?

I would like for the backgrounder to stretch the length of the screen for those who have a large screen but for the main portion of the site to be standard size. Similar to this page:
https://www.crowdspring.com/post-a-proje...

How many pages (maximum of 5) do you need designed?

I need a home page, a single-column page and a double column page (2/3 left for main copy 1/3 rigth side bar). I think this is all I need unless you think I need something else for the ecommerce part (I was thinking that the single column would work fine).

Target Audience

What is your industry?

Self-help industry with secondary industries being parenting and education

Describe the target audience for your website design

Target Audience

Although kids use our program (or kids with their parents), it is the parents who buy.

Our target audience for purchasing our product are success-oriented parents between the ages of 25 50 with children between the ages of 6 and 14.

Ideal market are success-oriented parents who participate in the self-help market (they already invest in their own education and believe in what we are teaching their kids. They buy books and attend workshops of people like Jack Canfield, Tony Robbins, Landmark Forum, Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Eckhart Tolle, Stephen Covey and other self-help and leadership gurus)

This is self-help/personal effectiveness/leadership versus the traditional parenting content.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your website design

Please see enclosed document for more info.

1. These are critical life skills for your kids for developing self-confidence and learning to achieve their goals. Your kids lives will be different because they particiapted in this program.

2. This is FUN for kids and easy to fit into your busy lives (modular format).

3. You will benefit too from greater connection with your kids, common language, "coaching tools" you can use.

Main Messages
1. Main message
a. "Your kids team with Wyatt the Wise Wizard to learn key life skills for developing self confidence and reaching their goals, through fun short stories and activities (with coaching tools for you too!)."

2. Call Outs (some kind of clickable icon)
a. Try it free (clickable takes to page where they can sign up for free ebook)
b. Ages [6-8| 8-14| 15-18] (each age group is clickable takes to page that describes how to use program for that particular age group note that 8-14 is idea age kids can self-study or work with parent; 6-8 parents would need to work with their parent; 15-18 material is relevant but future teen version on the way that provides more teen examples. I need to test this age group.)

3. Menu Options these are my next three important messages
a. What your kids will learn (short message with link to a page)
b. How it works (short message with link to page)
c. Whats in it for you (short message with link to page)

4. News area? Id like to have some place where we highlight our latest offering, latest media interview, latest charitable work, etc.)

5. Testimonials What parents are saying - Not sure how to handle where to put testimonials.

How is your company different from your competitors?

Unique Value Proposition
Parents want their kids to be successful and have happy fulfilling lives. They have invested in their own personal growth/success but dont have time to read the top 50 leadership/personal effectiveness books on the market and then figure out how to teach the concepts to their kids. We have done that for them.

What makes our program unique is that we use a character called Wyatt the Wise Wizard who teaches the skills through a series of short stories, fables, and activities. This provides a learning without lecture format that is fun and memorable for the kids and their parents. Our programs also provide parents with a common language and coaching tools that they can use while raising their kids.

Our target market and their families are BUSY! Usually dual income parents and busy kids in extracurricular activities (sports, dance, karate, Scouts, etc.). Another critical aspect of our program is that we have developed it in a modular format that enables kids to either self-study or learn with their parents. Modules can be completed within 15-30 minutes and can be completed over several days at a time. Each lesson also provides 5 minute refreshers that can be done in the car on the way to lessons, while waiting for a doctors appointment, or for a quick dinner conversation.

Memorable stories to solidify the learning (*** Stories are our differentiation ***)
Quick easy-to-use skill books
Takes 5-30 minutes
Creates valuable connection time with children
Vehicle for parents to have important conversations with their kids.
Vehicle for parents to share their own wisdom and personal experience
Reinforcement 5-minute refreshers delivered along the way
Flexible/modular format (Spend as much or little time as you want. Do when you want.)
Fun

Style and Concept

What website design styles do you like?

Our target audience for the website (the people purchasing our product) is success-oriented parents between the ages of 25 - 50. The site must look professional and appealing but also fun. This program is very different from other products out there and I want parents to think - Wow this is different but also be engaged and pulled in.
Very clean style
* I'd like for us to start "branding" Wyatt the Wise Wizard so he needs to appear on the site. I have an illustrator who will draw the final drawing so don't worry about drawing him perfectly.
* Needs to be very easy to see key info - click through to subsequent pages for details.

What colors do you want to see in your website design?
