Gopher Guides offers “Customized Go Training for teams
Our current site is https://www.gopherguides.com
What is Go (https://golang.org/)?
Google's Go language or alternatively Golang is currently one of the fastest growing programming languages in the software industry. Go was designed to be especially fast and easy to work with, especially for larger-scale systems (like Google's own). In the past 5 years, Go has had rapid adoption from Fortune 1000 companies who are looking to replace their expensive and outdated mainframes technology for business critical applications.
What does Gopher Guides do?
Due to Go being a new language it is extremely competitive to hire experienced Go engineers. Companies who have made the decision to adopt Go are opting for either 1) Retraining their existing employees in Go 2) Hiring new engineers and training them in Go as part of their onboarding process. Gopher Guides helps companies with both of these options, as well as more advanced options for experienced teams. Gopher Guides delivers virtual GO training for teams (typically 10-15 people), over the course of a week. Gopher Guides is led by Cory LaNou or Mark Bates, who are leaders within the Go community, and are engaging and experienced trainers. They have developed a learning framework that is updated quarterly and each course allows customization for the customers.
Examples of customers include Visa, Capital One, Coinbase, Uber.
Who is the target audience?
The website needs to appeal to two personas for target audience:
Developers who are part of a team who has made a decision to do a project in Go, and have identified the need for training. They will care about the details of the course, and credibility of the instructors.
Corporate buyers / approvers - these are the users who care less about the technical details, but more about the credibility of the company. For example, other companies who have used them, ratings, references, level of professionalism, ability to complete vendor forms, pricing. Could be from a Learning and Development department / budget.
Companies can be located anywhere in the world, in any industry. Companies who invest in Go training are typically enterprise companies who have large scale applications that they are looking to build or migrate to Go, and budget for training. Both personas are more corporate 9-5ers, and less cutting edge and involved in Gopher Community that is very active in the startup community.
