LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
DiningInfo LLC is a small, private company that is now in the final stages of building an exceptionally accurate and up-to-date database of factual information about restaurants in 10 major USA metropolitan areas.
The data has been obtained directly by phone interviews of more than 50,000 restaurants, followed up by mailed proofs to confirm the facts, with special emphasis on elements of information that are missing from most other restaurant guides -- such as waiter service, wine lists, BYO ("bring your own") wine policy, and 40 specific restaurant features. Because the data is very fresh, we believe that our database is more up-to-date than any other restaurant guide, especially insofar as identifying restaurants that have recently closed.
Each restaurant is assigned a "Wine-Friendly Rating", which is calculated with a unique formula fully disclosed on the Website. Neither site solicits reviews, and instead provides a novel "Find Reviews" link for each restaurant. That link generates a customized Google search (using advanced operators) to find reviews of the selected restaurant wherever they appear. Additionally, for restaurants that are reviewed on Yelp, a direct link to the most recent Yelp reviews is provided on the Map page. Links are also provided to the restaurants' own Websites and Menus.
The database will be publicly accessible through two Websites -- DiningInfo.com and GoBYO.com -- both of which are in an advanced beta stage and expect to be publicly launched by the end of February 2009. The design of both Websites is essentially the same, except for the headers and restaurants covered. DiningInfo.com will focus on restaurants with waiter service, while GoBYO.com will focus exclusively on restaurants that permit you to bring your own wine.
Aside from the temporary Landing Page and subsidiary information pages generated from links, there are only three types of pages involved -- the Home Page, the Search Results Page and the Map Page. The pages have been designed to enable users to obtain the information they are looking for with minimum navigation and a minimum number of clicks.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We are generally satisfied with the present site design, but we are open to suggestions to further polish the site design before the launch.
One possible enhancement would be to provide space for Google Adsense/Adwords, in a non-distracting manner.
Anything that makes either or both of the two sites easier to understand or use would also be considered.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
People who dine out and want up-to-date information, especially diners who are interested in wine service and wine lists and don't want to go on wild-goose chases to restaurants that are closed.

We prefer simplicity and clean design that is easy to understand and as user-friendly as possible.
