LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
happier.com is the leading source of science-backed self-help on the web. With tools and tests to let you measure, track and improve your happiness online, we help people "live better." We are very focused on our ties to leading researchers, and the company is focused on science-backed self improvement.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a new look and feel for our website. In the few months since we've launched, we've registered over 23,000 users. But our site still feels very hard, and anonymous. We want to keep the "clean" overall feeling but make the site feel softer and more accessible.
Looking for a redesign of our front page (http://happier.com/form.htm)
And an internal page like this: http://happier.com/learnMore.jsp
and an internal page like this: http://happier.com/offerings.jsp
The major goal of our re-design is to increase subscription rates. The secondary goal is to increase registration rates. Thus, the look and feel of the site once someone logs in is not as important as the user experience before someone is a registered user. That said, we'd like to make the experience as consistent as possible Many of our "internal" pages (requiring login) are very similar to the /learnmore.jsp page that is linked to above.
Creatives are strongly encouraged to register for happier.com (first week is free) to get a better sense of what we do.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our target audience is women, mostly US-based, who buy self-help books but like and trust science.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
- Even though this has lots of content, it still has a soft feel: http://www.mint.com/
We like the clean feel of http://www.dimdim.com/
We DO NOT like designs like this: http://selfgrowth.com/ (Too busy, too many choices).
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
No big smiley faces. We want to move away from anonymous-looking stock photography.
