What do you do?
We're an agile software development project management site specializing in Scrum. Scrum is a well known methodology for creating software.
Do you have a desired website screen size?
Open to suggestions. Right now we're targetting around 800px wide. Almost all of our users have wider monitors.
How many pages (maximum of 5) do you need designed?
We're looking for 3 Home Pages a) A generic homepage for everyone. b) A homepage for people coming from Basecamp (basecamphq.com) c) A homepage for people coming from Harvest (getharvest.com) We're also looking for some small, incremental improvements to two of our internal app pages (see screenshots attached) a) Iteration Page b) Scrum Board
What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your website design
Software developers and project managers who already know about Scrum. Highly techncial people who will be using the tool on a daily basis.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your website design
a) We're made just for Scrum and we follow the process faithfully.
b) Easy to use
c) Signing up is easy
We have a series of testimonials that we've been collecting that may be good elements to use: http://support.scrumdo.com/discussions/s...
On the Basecamp/Harvest versions: Highlight the fact that we work with those sites. Have an area on the screen with a video (that we'll produce) showing how to get set up.
How is your company different from your competitors?
We're a small, lean solution focused on getting things done and not a giant enterprisey software house.
Style and Concept
What website design styles do you like?
Things like Basecamp, Google Plus. We're not afraid of some whitespace.
What colors do you want to see in your website design?
We're up for a change. We like mostly white/grey/black with spashes of bright primary and secondary colors. We'd consider subtle textures or gradients. I have a preference for greens or blues.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your website design?
Not a fan of earth tones nor pastels for this.
What adjectives should best describe your website design?
Simple, flat and clean.
What content must be included in the website design?
The 3 versions of the homepage mentioned above are the prime goal of this project.
Assuming you're not logged in, you can see the current version here:
Uploaded are the 2 pages ripe for some smaller, incremental updates.
Do you have additional requirements or links you want to share?
We're looking for a completely redesigned homepage. We need something that makes us look more professional. The goal of this project is to increase our conversion rate.
We're also looking for a less intrusive, incremental, improvement to the other two pages included. One is an interactive board showing the status of user stories. The other is the main iteration interface that most users use on a daily basis.
