LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a professional company that brings together global service providers with customers worldwide. Customers projects might range from IT/programming-projects, graphic-design to translation services or finding the right lawyer for your problem. Both, customer and provider, may be located worldwide.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a clean, professional look&feel / design of our website. All together, we need 4 pages:
b) Template buyer-page
c) Template provider-page
d) Template Content page
Major colors should be blue and red both on neutral background (white?!). Logo (not part of this project) will consist of blue and red letters probably on white background).
Overall structure of sites should be (but other options welcome) as seen in attached file (pdf).
The overall menu structure consists of 3 parts: left part (Customer/buyer-menu), upper part (for all neutral topics like help, blog, about us, why us, etc.) and right part (provider menu). The left and right menus will fold down with the sub-menu-items as shown in pdf. In general the left and right menu are not folded down. See amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/books-used-books-t... and go with mouse to "shop all departments" (left top) and menu will fold down.
Buyer menu: Left buyer-menu is located on the left and should have blue as major color. Furthermore, color blue should be recognition pattern for all pages if user is logged in as customer.
Provider menu: Provider menu is located on the right and should have red as major color. Furthermore, color red should be recognition pattern for all pages if user is logged in as provider.
For all neutral content pages (e.g. help, blog, About us, etc.), the recognition color should be neither red nor blue.
http://www.guru.com has used an in a way similar menu/color logic for employers (blue) and freelancers (green), major parts of the site change color when clicking on employer or freelancer.
The color concept is the only thing we like on this page, please ignore the structure, etc.
Ad 1) Homepage should contain the following elements:
a) A short graphical description of what we are doing (hire-manage-pay; enter job, find best provider, pay for good results)
b) Sections for Major Categories for jobs (Web/programming, Design, Admin, Sales, Engineering)
Ad 2) Template buyer page should contain the following elements:
A hypothetical message-inbox from buyer-point of view. Major color in this template should be blue (as recognition pattern for buyer-section)
Ad 3) Template provider page should contain the following elements:
A hypothetical message-inbox from provider-point of view. Major color in this template should be red (as recognition pattern for provider-section)
Ad 4) Template Content page should contain the following elements:
A hypothetical blog or FAQ page. Major color in this template should be neutral (not blue for buyer or red for customer)
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Target groups are Consumers, Companies / Small Medium Enterprises and Freelancers (on buyers side) and Companies / Small Medium Enterprises and Freelancers (on service providers side).
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
http://www.hulu.com (very clean, understated good overview, slight color gradients)
http://www.statista.de (clean, understated, nice color tones for one color (light-dark blue, red fits good to these blues, etc.)
http://www.apple.com (at least a little bit structured, soft edges, colors fit to each other)
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
Design should be
- highly professional look&feel with (maybe) slightly rounded edges and without looking too much web 2.0
- very clean in terms of few content
- understated, but not boring
- very well structured (easy usability)
- colors fit very well together without letting the site look childish, etc.
Users who come to the page for the first time should say:
- whow! Great design. Equally good or better than hulu, apple, etc. I love the design and remember it
- thats a serious company I trust
- I know where to click now
- I understand the separation of buyer-section (blue color) and provider-section (red color)
