Name of the Site
What do you do?
We're a web-based game!
What is your industry?
Describe your audience
Our audience is mostly late teen to late 20's males. SOME with high attention spans (to play text-based games). Our audience prefers and needs to have information placed into visually-appeasing, easily-digested morsels.
What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate to your audience?
Pretty much what the site does now. It's a prison-based game. It should be gritty, yet fun. We're not cutting off heads here, so think more cartoon-violence.
Style and Concept
What styles do you like?
Please see current site - http://www.prisonblock.com/. I have included our logo and current background in the Materials section of this project (to the left of this brief).
What colors do you like or hate?
Please see site. The green very often used is #caff00 - though you can naturally vary it.
What do you need?
We need one (1) landing page for our game and also one (1) overview page (we intend to do some A/B testing to test conversions). We already have one landing page designed - you can see it here - http://www.prisonblock.com/register-land... and want to test a DIFFERENT design. The winning designer will need to provide one landing page and one overview page (two pages total).
LANDING PAGE: Each landing page should have a registration form similar to our current form - http://www.prisonblock.com/register-old, but it should also include a "connect with facebook" button, as well as some little selling points of the game with appropriate screenshots or images such as "Build and customize your cell!", "Pimp out your avatar!", "Explore the prisons and search for cash!" etc...
OVERVIEW PAGE: We want to help smooth up the user-registration process, so one thing we'd like to do is convert our Quick Start Guide from our wiki (here: http://wiki.prisonblock.com/Quick_Start_... ) to a page that's more embedded within the game and easily digested for the new users that may be lost as to what to do after registration. Perhaps something with large, appropriately-themed checkboxes next to the point items listed in the guide. Keep in mind we don't want to overwhelm the user, so it should be as straightforward and simple as possible, while also divulging as much info as possible. We're open to solutions that involve having to code panes that slide open to show more info etc. Here is an example of the interior page this information would appear on - obviously your design should be different: http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/389/...
Note the "Mail" and "Events" box to the left? When you're a new user there's a box there that links to the current quick start guide. It will link to this new one, so a cool thing to do might be to have some large arrow or something that says "To get to this page again, simply click here!".
Alright, I hope I've got this all explained up now :) If you have any questions, please ask.
