LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
NorthWrite is an energy information managment services company specializing in monitoring the eneryg use of commercial/industrial/institutional buildings and providing our users with easy-to-understand graphical and reporting analysis showing them how they are using their energy. Please go to our website at: www.energyworksite.com to get a better feel for the types of services we offer. All of our software is delivered as a web service. We are moving more strongly into the K-12 schools market and need assistance in designing new graphics for these customers.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We are going to be putting flat-panel HD displays in over 100 schools in several states starting next month (note: they are not touch-screen, and are for display purposes only). The kiosks will be used to show the students, parents, teachers and public what their school is doing to save energy, how they can participate, who to contact for more information, and also specific graphics showing actual energy use of their school and how it compares to other similar schools (these data come from our onsite monitoring equipment). The kiosks will cycle through 3 different full views (screens). These are the screens we need designed. The first will be a general eye-catching graphic that captures the viewers attention and communicates elements of the following themes: energy, energy savings, education, sustainability and collaboration/teamwork. I know that's a lot for one graphic, but see what you can do without going for a basic collage. The second graphic (screen) will be one where we provide a message from the school and/or district regarding their energy savings and/or sustainability goals and also provide contact information for school staff that viewers can contact for more information. Finally, the last graphic will show several charts/graphs of actual energy use and how it compares to other schools. The customers are asking for versions of the Energy Kiosk (3 screen sets) that are tailored to the ages of the students--one for k-6, one for Jr. High, and one for High School. I'm assuming/hoping that the three sets can be similar enough that once the first set is designed, the remaining 2 can just be simple variants. In fact, it may be that some of the screens (among the different sets) are identical.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Primarily K-12 students, teachers, and parents. Many of them are interested in sustainability and in what the schools can do to help. This provides visibility into what is otherwise a very opaque area of the schools energy use and carbon footprint.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
See the attached PowerPoint slide that we created to present the general concept to the schools. This slide combines two of the 3 requested screens descibed above (i.e. the second and third)
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
Graphics optimized for 1080p HD display. Each screen should have our company logo (attached). There should be another spot on each screen where the logo of our reseller or customer (i.e. school district) can be placed (but this one is optional and it should work with or without). Screens 2 and 3 will be primarily backgrounds and we'll overlay text and the energy charts/graphs. I anticipate that screen 1 will be the one which changes the most based on whether the school is K-6, Jr. High, or High School.
