there will be 4 pages in this project based on the wires:

1. homepage, including universal header & footer

2. applicant's public profile

3. a "dashboard" view of all applications from an employer's perspective

4. search results for "search positions"

the person who wins this contract can expect to do even more design work on the other pages that arent a part of this initial posting (on an hourly or fixed price basis). these are likely to include:

6. browse applicants/ companies with filters entered

7. search default page as well as search results for members, site content- all 3 cases

7. browse applicants/ employers category landing pages

8. register/join pages

9. settings wizard- at least one page of the steps

10. user's personal "landing page" with personalized left nav and settings options

11. surveys- create, view, results.

12. variants on this that are specific to internships (vs all types of jobs)

and probably some others I'm not thinking about...

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

visual designs of the attached 4 pages based on the wireframes with consistent css styles used for all pages and universal style guide for fonts, colors, link colors etc.

see our creative brief (attached) for guidelines on vision, goal, target style (50s retro/ streamlined, think Bauhaus or swedish modern furniture).

homepage, esp the header, footer are obviously the most important in terms of compelling, slick visual design. the key challenge for the dashboard will be just fitting it all on one view.

this will be built using a custom DRUPAL theme so consider the fact that it will be on Drupal, a CMS platform in your design. You may want to look at the drupal site and examples to get a sense of what's possible (answer: a lot, but not infinite).

The core goal of the site is usability and user experience. The wires are a guide for priorities on the page, navigation and key experience and usability components but there is still plenty of room for a good visual designer to add in their interpretation and make it look really slick, professional and compelling.

note: headlines must be plain-text for seo optimization. please limit graphics usage to where it is really necessary! we could consider using SIFR judiciously for key font elements (like 1 headline/ tagline per page) to enable custom font rendering but would prefer to avoid it if we can.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

job seekers and employers; interns and employers; as well as others in the jobs space-- programs, recruiters, professional associations, higher education.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

see the creative brief. Bauhaus and 50s modern, like an old TV set or 50s high-end radio -- early electronics that are streamlined and "vintage modern" in styling-- should be your guide. the idea is modern, futuristic, well conceived but also retro and comforting.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

the page elements represented in the wires. if you are not familiar with the professional web design process and the interaction between the visual designer and the interaction designer/ information architect, as well as with the requirements in designing for modular, dynamic content management systems, this project may be a challenge for you.
