I'd Rather Be With My Dog
What do you do?
CEO/Founder, and ultimate dog lover! I created the brand "I'd Rather Be With My Dog" after writing a song that started to go viral in the dog world. The chorus of the song is "I'd rather be with my dogs than be with you" and now 4 months later, I've branded it to t-shirts and mugs, and it's selling like wildfire!
I am the face of the company.I am deeply dedicated to providing my fans (not customers) with products that are fun and emotional. Whenever you deal with something animal related, there is an immediate connection and deep bond that you establish with anyone.
Do you have a desired website screen size?
1024 x 768
How many pages (maximum of 4) do you need designed?
What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your website design
Typically middle aged women who own dogs (or cats) between the ages of 30-65.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your website design
Emotional connection to the specific dog breeds (we sell 20 different shirts, each with a different breed, so that emotional connection must be apparent)
Fun, easy to navigate, and engaging e-commerce section.
We support shelters and rescues, and saving the lives of animals is a big part of the company.
How is your company different from your competitors?
The biggest difference is ME. I am the face of the company, I'm on the social media, posting pictures of my own dogs and that creates an even deeper connection with people. They see that there is a true, normal face to what they are buying and people seem to like that a lot.
We also offer so many different breeds that we can cater to a whole host of dog lovers.
Style and Concept
What website design styles do you like?
Barkbox has a great website. They display products but also incorporate their fans dogs. Again, emotional connection is huge.
Zazzle also is great, and has a great search function.
I need an excellent, cutting edge e-commerce set up.
But I think funky and simple is fine. Nothing too dramatic, just easy to engage and very dog lover friendly.
What colors do you want to see in your website design?
Heather grey, blue, yellow, off white. Something that can match the breeds of the dogs a little bit.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your website design?
I'm open to all.
What adjectives should best describe your website design?
Fun, engaging, dog friendly, silly, engaging.
What content must be included in the website design?
I want the best e-commerce practices/functions, from a design and engagement perspective. I am here to sell products first, but part of that is an emotional connection with fans. So high end, cutting edge e-commerce practice.
I also want better, more stylish fonts to make it fun to read.
I want a search function that can allow customers to search their breed, for example
"what kind of dog do you have?" and you write in your breed and it immediately takes you to a page with those products. Immediate call to action that is also engaging and fun.
Lots of pictures of our fans dogs. I want this displayed.
High quality images.
Do you have additional requirements or links you want to share?
This is the original website. I think it is good but it still needs cosmetic tweaks.
I have a builder and someone to do the back end, but I need s good designer with a good eye.
