LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Here's what we're all about:
Gettaround is a marketplace of unutilized car hours. We enable car owners to make money off their depreciating cars, and enable renters to get cars affordably and conveniently.
250 million cars in the US are used only 8% of the time. Millions of people have unmet transportation needs. Increased smart phone adoption and wireless vehicle mesh networks will allow access to this untapped market.
Our system enables car owners to specify times when their car is available through the Gettaround website or iPhone application. Renters use their iPhone to locate available cars in their area and unlock them using their phone.
First target market: Residential college campuses where the student population is dense, time is flexible and Gettarounds cash offering is extremely appealing. 30-40% of college students have cars, and 3 million residential students need access to personal transportation.
Disruptive: Gettaround disrupts the centralized car sharing and rental model by enabling individuals to rent out vehicles they own directly to other users.
Sustainable competitive advantage: Patent-pending in-car technology that uses the high bandwidth connectivity and GPS capability of smartphones to create a private on-demand transportation network.
Achievements to date:
- Won Most Likely App to Make Money Prize at IPhone Dev Camp in August 2009
- Pilot trial at Singularity University with 25 drivers and 6 cars
- Successfully integrated vehicle with in-car technology prototype
- Engaged in trial launch discussions with New York, Chicago, and Sacramento
Tangible benefits to humanity:
Gettaround has social and environmental benefits of reducing VMTs (Vehicle Miles Traveled) per driver by 44% and GHGs (Greenhouse Gas) emissions by 40%. Gettaround facilitates a a change in consumer behavior to more conscious transportation choices, changing consumer mindset from posessing transportation to accessing it.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We require 6 pages - take a look at the attached PDF - it's all there.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
It should be primarily white, clean and skinny.
Green elements should be included and we want the logo to have a strong presence.
It should communicate green, opportunity to make money and enable renters and owners with the three values: community, money and mobility.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
No dark pallets, no clipart logos or pre-made templates.
