LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Robin Baron Designs is a interior design firm with extensive experience, flair and style. The company environment and culture is warm, friendly, professional, competent and helpful. They are a full service, high-end residential interior design firm. They have extensive experience in all aspects of interior design and they provide services ranging from decorating to construction and renovation to every detail on the interior design process.

They create beautiful homes within a wide variety of styles ranging from traditional to modern. They often co-mingle old and new, antique and contemporary to create each client's uniquely individual home.

The site should be in alignment with the exciting, creative and visually stunning work and visual aesthetic they create for their clients. We have attached a quasi-brand grid to provide information about the look and feel desired. The current site is www.robinbarondesign.com.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need the design for the website to display the work in a visually stunning way and at the same time have a blog component that is integrated in design but less formal in nature. We want to let our work speak for itself through a gallery while also giving potential clients insights into our attitudes, thoughts, philosophies and overall creative approach.

We would like to feature the colors in the grid prominently throughout the site with a more vibrant and hipper use of the colors provided in the grid (i.e.with the green more of an Apple Green and a deeper Brown). The brown would be a slightly deeper brown compared to what is on the newsletter and on the grid. The cartoon character should be prominently featured on the blog and can be utilized on the more traditional/formal site pages in a more limited way for continuity.

We would like submissions to include designs for the following pages: The Company, The Portfolio (our work), Our Press, Design Insider, Our Blog and Ask Robin, and About Us.

The site will be built in Wordpress and we are not anticipating the use of Flash.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We'd like our work to influence and inspire the overall design, but don't take this too literally.

We would like to see the theme integrated across the traditional pages and the blog however the blog should be more conversational/ connected than the more formal pages. We expect that the cartoon character could help achieve this by being more prevalent in the blog section. We would like to use a more vibrant and hipper use of the colors provided in the grid (i.e.with the green more of an Apple Green and a deeper Brown) to tie together the blog and the site design.

We would like a design that is clean, sleek, refined and above all usable.

The positive approach and focus on individual needs of customer should somehow be projected in the overall look & feel of the site. Some common characteristics are:

- PERSONAL TOUCH, FRIENDLY - not a big impersonal warehouse

- KNOWLEDGEABLE AND WILLING TO SHARE warm and inviting, share through ASK

ROBIN AND ROBIN RECOMMENDS

- ATTRACTIVE AND INVITING - From the site people should be motivated to engage and call by

phone or email.

- SHOWCASE WORK photo gallery should be prominent

Desired Style

- Highly styled sleek like a fashion site.

- Prefer "flat" look, with skillful use of borders, backgrounds and shades.

- WordPress info --> This design will be incorporated into WordPress and will need to be coded as much as possible with CSS in order to make it "light" and quick to load. Therefore, keep CSS limitations in mind.

- NO POP-UP WINDOWS OR FLASH

- Conveys a balanced mix of professionalism, fashion and cool/hip image and not one of old fashion or staid look.

Color:

Would like to keep the two colors in the grid but with a bit more pop to them (with the Apple Green and the Brown deeper for more vibrancy).

Phone number, email & "friendly" call to action ALWAYS present on each page could be a button.
