Who are you?

.US is the official country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the United States. The .US domain name has been in existence since 1985, but was used primarily by schools, libraries, and government branches, departments and agencies until April 2002, when it was made available to the general public. .US is comparable with .uk, .de, .cn

There is also the creative use of .us, i.e. join.us, text.us etc. The enhanced positioning of the .us TLD will target a younger social media savvy "post .com" generation putting a new face and personality on the brand. .us is a top-level-domain (TLD) used as an alternative to .com, .gov and .org. .US represents the fact that youre here, youre local, you have a presence.

What do you need?

.US is in need of a website refresh to address a new branding effort targeting the social networking community while remaining patriotic as the TLD for the United States. The winning website needs to appeal to a younger, social/community oriented demographic while not alienating the existing patriotic .US users.

* .US is THE extension you want if you are a group. It will immediately put you in that space, and identify you as a community. We want to be engaged with these communities. (positioning)
* .US represents the fact that youre here, youre local, you have a presence.
* There is also the creative use of .US, i.e. join.us, text.us etc.

We Absolutely Must Have

A refreshed website that is easy to navigate, is less copy heavy while still containing all information and conveys the new positioning personality: social media savvy with a patriotic bent. Ultimate, the winning design needs to stay true to patriotic roots while conveying a more current, younger, social element. Existing .US logo incorporated into the new landing page design. It's okay to adjust existing logo background &/o positioning for added impact. The current design & logo font must remain - but the color palette and background design is negotiable to make the biggest impact on the web pages.
