Design Service USA
What do you do?
We create professional kitchen plans with from your specifications. Our plans include photo-realistic 3-D images that let you visualize the design of their new kitchen (or bath, or den) and make sure the design is 'just right'. We also include a detailed part list with price estimates for all cabinetry and materials to help you understand the costs, and professionally drawn floorplan and elevation drawings for your installers.
Our design services are used by major home goods retailers and independent cabinet dealers. We are now branching out to offer our services directly to consumers.
Do you have a desired website screen size?
How many pages (maximum of 5) do you need designed?
Probably 4 or five. Landing page, product info page, about us page, and order entry page, at a minimum.
What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your website design
Our customers are young (18-35), primarily urban and professional with income levels at or around the U.S. Median. (We are only targeting U.S. customers at this point). 70% of our customers are female, and 80% have a college degree.
A typical IKDP customer will live in an apartment in a major city or suburb, and be attracted to the modern, minimalist designs of IKEA furniture but also attracted by its economical nature. Ecologically conscious our customer will bike or walk to work if it is close, or drive a reduced-emissions or hybrid car if public transport is not available. They are as likely as not to be married, and on average have no children (0.7 children on avg per household).
Although IKEA as a whole promotes a 'do-it yourself' philosophy we have found that almost 60% of IKEA Kitchen customers want some help in remodeling their kitchen - whether that be in measurement, design, demolition or installation.
Our customers as a whole will be fairly sophisticated internet consumers.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your website design
Designing a kitchen can be a tedious, error-prone activity.
Our professional designers make it easy to get a beautiful kitchen design, customized to your needs with a minimum of effort.
Professionally designed kitchens save you time and money by helping you to avoid costly design mistakes and by properly accounting for the details that can make installation a breeze or a horror.
How is your company different from your competitors?
We don't waste your time:
IKEA offers a do-it yourself program for designing your kitchen. It is not easy to use and typically you will spend hours learning to use it and then getting all of the details right. Most of your time is spent learning how to use the tool, not actually designing your kitchen. Our process is simple - answer a few questions about what features you want, sketch (on paper) the floorpan/cabinet layout you want, send it to us. Spend all of your energy on design, and let us spend the hours on the details.
We don't want to sell you anything but our designs:
Most of the independent designers you will find also have related cabinetry sales or installation businesses. They look at the design as a way to sell you more cabinets or to get you to commit to giving them a construction job. Our motives are clear - we only want to give your the best design for your needs and space.
Style and Concept
What website design styles do you like?
Of course, we like the style of the IKEA website - www.ikea.com
and, although it's kinda crass: http://www.magicjack.com/8/index.asp
What colors do you want to see in your website design?
since we want to feel close to IKEA using their colors is probably not a bad idea. However, we should probably not overdo it so our palette must consist of more than just blue and yellow, and it is not necessary that these be the dominant colors.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your website design?
What adjectives should best describe your website design?
cute slick appealing trustworthy cool attractive well-designed not-cheesy effective striking notable memorable soft open airy
What content must be included in the website design?
the design must include our name. we don't have a logo yet, and we're just using the name, in a specific font. See ikeadesignpros.com for an example.
