LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

MeterReviews.com is a site designed for (1) staff-contributed news and information on glucose meters and insulin pumps for diabetes patients and (2) peer (user-contributed) reviews of their experiences with these medical devices.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a design for the three layouts/sections the site will have: user contributed review pages for each product, staff-contributed articles, and the primary page, which should simply and briefly convey what the site does and who it's for, while containing a sampling of the latest articles and user reviews. The site will be supported by a targeted, relevant group of advertisers, and the site should allow for that space.

After the design is awarded, if the designer is interested and able, we will have XHTML/CSS markup work available. We are also looking at the opportunity to develop a longer-term relationship with a designer.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

The primary target audience is type 1 and 2 diabetes patients who are either newly diagnosed and looking for the best medical device to use, are existing patients looking to replace their existing meter, are patients considering a switch to an insulin pump, or are looking for interesting new information about related tools and devices.

The site is intended to serve as a useful, friendly and trustworthy guide based on others' experience with various devices, and to be a helpful consumer-oriented guide to product innovations. Its positioning should be that of an independent, trustworthy and friendly resource.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

The design must be aesthetic, clean and usable with a friendly color scheme more than flashy and impressive. The site should be usable and accessible from the front page: updated content (both user reviews and articles) should be visible on the front page, so it always appears fresh, but should not clutter it. There is no hard sell; only useful, credible information for patients. The site should be usable and accessible from the front page.

It may be useful to consider the use of some graphic hints to convey the subject of the site.
