LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
WINNING SELECTION WILL GET A BRAND NEW, JUST LAUNCHED, FIT PC2 AS WELL AS THE CASH AWARD!!!
Consumers are getting smarter. For years PC makers were getting away with selling giant PC towers packed with add-ons most consumers just didn't need. Why? Fatter profits. The fit PC2 is the counter-opposite of that. It's a slimmed down PC (fits in your hand) at a slimmed down price.
Even though its the shape of a movie-sized box of milk duds, the fit PC2 isnt fattening! Its slim shape contains all the computing power most consumers need, including wireless network connection, an Atom processor, full Windows operating system and 160 gig hard drive. It runs at about 7 watts an hour (consuming up to 70% less power than the typical PC) and is fanless - which makes it so quiet, you'll never hear it.
According to fit PC2 manufacturer, Compulab, a major market will be a consumer looking to use their TV as PC. With sites like NBC's hulu.com getting millions of visitors a day, the march to online viewing is unstoppable. Instead of being stuck watching those movies on your laptop, the fit PC2 easily allows you to turn your TV into a full online entertainment center - playing HD movies, checking your email or hitting your favorite websites.
Another big market will be for consumers using products like Skype and Magic Jack that require you keep your PC on 24/7. The fit PC2 could save that type of household over $100 a year just in power savings. That's what's so great about this project; it's a product today's consumer is really looking for. We just have to help them find it!
The statistics back that up - with over half-a-million global searches last month alone on Google for mini pc, the market seems ready for the fit PC2.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
This is a web design project for the new fit PC2. We are looking for a consumer friendly site that showcases the unique aspects of the fit PC 2. You may pull photos and images directly from their current site. We will request you provide specs for Home page and post selection, 4 additional pages and any of the drop downs if needed. We want a main flash area and please see the notes below for the tab suggestions.
this is the old site for the original fit pc (please only use this as an additional referance but do not use these photos )
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Consumers looking for an alternative to the bloated PC. We think this will appeal to tech and non techy consumers. Also those looking to turn their tv into a pc. Consumers that are budget conscious and energy conscious or people that would love to travel with their PC as apposed to just a laptop.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Here are the sites we would suggest be used for reference / ideas
Please pay close attention to the eeebox site as the fit PC has many of the same benefits and substantially better delivery. We don't want a duplicate of their site, but we feel they have done a good job presenting their product.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
These are the tabs we want (you can also provide suggestions). Because we may have oversees purchases we would like the designer to consider small icons next to the tabs
Home - maybe house icon
Purchase - maybe shopping cart (could be alternately titled Get Fit)
Your fitPC2 (different types and specs)
See the fit (video player section if needed)
Support - maybe question mark? This will need drop down for: forum , newsletter, downloads, FAQ's)
On the home page we want to highlight why you should consider a fitPC2 - we would also like a few creative boxes for "Magic Jack and Skype users" where we can highlight some specific benefits of the fitPC2 (it runs at about 70% less power that the typical PC and is fanless, so it's quiet). Potentially a news and/or blog box, maybe a "I love my fitPC2" box for testimonials and/or a "take the get fit challenge" to see if you can guess how much energy you can save with the fitPC2, etc. - All of these boxes are not required, but are suggestions.
We will be incorporating a video player as well to showcase the product. Please look at and select a player of your choice from this site (you may place in that main area instead of flash, place full size somewhere on the home page or place a small version on the home page that will link to the player page).
