What do you do?
Our mission is to understand the transformation of urban community under the forces of globalization, new communication technologies, and population diversity so that our research can inform practitioner and policy maker decisions. Our site of study is Los Angeles and its many ethnic communities of both new and settled immigrants.

Describe the target audience for your website design
MetaConnects is designed to be used by community practitioners, community organizers, community health policy coordinators, and other community builders across the fourteen California sites involved in The California Endowments Building Healthy Communities initiative. The website is developed by the USC Metamorphosis Project, and applies their Communication Infrastructure approach with real-world neighborhood examples to understand, engage, and improve communities from the ground up.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your website design
Openness, professional, community.
How is your company different from your competitors?
We don't have competitors, as we are based in education and research.
Style and Concept
What website design styles do you like?
Minimalist, web 2.0,
What colors do you want to see in your website design?
Orange, blue-green, brown, black.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your website design?
Red, yellow. No primary colors. Not too much brown (too "earthy").
What adjectives should best describe your website design?
Visual, welcoming, educational, contemporary.
What content must be included in the website design?
The current design is lacking in several areas: 1) it is too text-heavy and needs to be more graphical, 2) there is too much wasted white space, and 3) the design is not memorable and doesn't stick out in your mind.
We need redesigns for the front page, "participate" section (message boards and blogs), and the "toolkit" section (which talks about how to conduct research).
Do you have additional requirements or links you want to share?
We receive grant money from the California Endowment (www.calendow.org).
Our main website is www.metamorph.org. This design can be a little similar (you see the current version uses the same orange color) but not completely replicate it.
The website design should be welcoming and easily understood by a diverse range of users from different neighborhoods.
