Creative Brief

Who are you?

Lumens is a multi-channel Retailer selling lighting and ceiling fan products. The website, Lumens.com, sells a wide variety of products, with a particular focus on contemporary lighting, modern ceiling fans, and modern home accessories. The site features over 10,000 products from 300+ manufacturers.

What do you need?

Our desire is to create a unique and interactive Shopping experience to aid Shoppers who are looking to purchase a new Ceiling Fan. This Ceiling Fan Finder will help identify each Shopper's interests and tastes and will aid in the discovery of products. The Lumens website currently offers shoppers the ability to narrow through the product assortment using certain product attributes, such as color, style, theme, or price. Lumens wants the experience to be unique and fun. As an example, instead of asking a customer if their style is modern or traditional, we might show them 2 types of cars and ask which one they prefer and use their answer to infer their style. We are seeking unique ways to present the information most commonly used by consumers when shopping for a new ceiling fan.

At the end of this selection process, our system will be able to determine the style preference of the user and will present them with the products which match their style. Ideally, we would like the creative design to be reflective of each questions topic. For example, when asking someone about which car they would drive, it would be great to show images or icons of those cars in a fun, unique way. Then, when I advance to the question about paintings, the creative would change to images or icons of artwork. This connection between the question and the creative is important.

Requirements

We Absolutely Must Have

1. On all Pages, we want to have icons for Print, Save, Share, and Email

2. On the Finder Page, as the user answers the Finder questions, we need a visual indication to show the product assortment is narrowing with each selection. This is typically shown via a Product Count (ie. 28 Matching Products) somewhere on the page. As each question is answered, the product count is reduced, thus indicating the number of matching products is lowering.

3. On the Finder Page, we need the ability to click a product image and/or product title and get to a Product Detail Page with more detailed information about each product

Web Browsers to be supported:
1. Windows (IE 6, 7, 8 and Firefox 3+)
2. Mac (Safari 3+ and IE 5)
