LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Afritee is a private, not-for-profit project with a mission. We want to sell 1000 organic cotton T-Shirts on our Website, and the profits of these Shirts will be used to build a school in Africa. When all 1000 Shirts are sold, the school is starting to be build and we will repeat the process for another school project.

To start off, we kind of need a website!:-)

The whole flow of the project will be as follows:

1.) Website design (this project)

2.) We code the whole website based on the winning design

3.) When the website is online the visitors can vote between different styles of shirts (V-Neck, Round Neck, etc.), at the same time we will post the T-shirt design project on crowdspring.

4.) When the design and style for the shirt is done we will order 1000 shirts and start selling on the website.

The shirts will come with the added twist that there is a code in the washing label of every shirt, which the buyer can enter on the site to see where the shirt has been produced, who produced it and which way did it go to end up with him. So total transparency about where the shirts come from.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a Website that clearly explains the concept in an easy way and is straight forward, clean, but fitting to the cause. We do not need the whole website designed in this project, three parts of it should be enough:

1.)Homepage Version 1: This should, at the first glance, explain the project and invite the user to vote for their favourite shirt style, as a type of poll. It should also invite the visitor to visit the T-shirts project on Crowdspring.

2.)Homepage Version 2: This should be the version when the style and shirt design has been decided, so the actual t-shirt selling version of the site.

3.) One subpage, which can be the blog or the product page, if you choose to have the homepage and product page seperated, just to make clear how the homepage design can be used in subpages as well.

If you manage to design the whole page in three or four pages, go ahead.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Well, everybody actually who wants to make a difference and is willing to pay a bit more for an organic cotton T-shirt.

WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:

We don't really have any favourite sites, but as we said it should be easy to decode what the site is about and since we will only have one product it should also be clear what the visitor can buy here. In the version 1 of the homepage it should really invite to participate in deciding what the shirts will look like, in Version 2 it is more about putting the shirt into the focus and explaining who benefits if the visitor is buying it.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:

As we said we need to have three paged designed here:

1.)Homepage Version 1: This should, at the first glance, explain the project and invite the user to vote for their favourite shirt style, as a type of poll. It should also invite the visitor to visit the T-shirts project on Crowdspring.

2.)Homepage Version 2: This should be the version when the style and shirt design has been decided, so the actual t-shirt selling version of the site.

3.) One subpage, which can be the blog or the product page, if you choose to have the homepage and product page seperated, just to make clear how the homepage design can be used in subpages as well.

And like we said, if you manage to have the whole page on three or four pages, go ahead!:-)

What needs to be somewhere on the page is:

- the link to the facebook fanpage

- a counter how many shirts have been sold yet and how many are still available

- a link to a map, where visitors can see where the shirts have been sold to so far

- a logo that can be used as a standalone as well as in the washing labels of the shirt or on the shirt

- This will be an E-commerce site, so somewhere near the actual shirt there needs to be a "buy" sign or something.

You know now a little bit about what we are planning to do, so feel free to make a design that would speak to you as a costumer! We will try to give feedback every 24h to keep you informed about what designs we like and which not.

Thanks a lot in advance for your efforts in making this a really cool site, we are very excited to see what you guys come up with!!

PS: Whoever wins should be able to provide all graphics and fonts used as well as the Logo as a standalone graphic in the typical formats. It would also be great if you would be willing to make tiny adjustments if neccessary after the project is over (we are talking about really tiny stuff...)
