LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
3C Information Solutions Inc (3CIS) is a telecommunications and software development company. Our current website is www.3cis.biz (yeah, .biz, I know) and it is pretty useless for our purposes as this point - there is no real content and the design is dated. We are an established company (8 years) but we do very little marketing - mostly it has been word of mouth with our clients. We are based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, but work throughout Canada and have American clients as well.
Our 2 areas of specialization:
Install and maintain high speed wireless communications licensed and unlicensed
Manage the installation and build of towers for remote locations
Plan entire wide area network deployments
VOIP Telephone Systems
Mobile Mine communications
Custom built software products serving a variety of customers / business sectors
o TMMS Tower Management and Maintenance Software
o SOMS Safety Orientation Management System
o TLU Traditional Land Use software for First Nations
This is not currently a 50-50 split in the company Telecommunications comprises the bulk of the company.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We want a completely new design for our website. The current design is old and unworkable, and the chief complaints we hear are that no one understands what we do there is a lot of management-speak and no real content.
Basically, the only design element of the original website that we want incorporated into the new one is the 3C logo, the one with the 3 Cs ordered in a circle with the drop shadow.
In general, we would like a clean, modern interface, plenty of whitespace and clean lettering. This should include crisp lines and graphics related to our business to let people immediately see what we do. For colors, we currently use blues and whites, so this would be familiar, but we might be open to other color schemes.
We have a lot of pictures of tower and wireless installations out at different jobs sites, so if there was a place-holder for a slide-show somewhere, we would add that to the site ourselves within the confines of the designed site.
The solution should consist of 3 main pages the index page, the telecom page, and the software page.
The index page should be attractive and have enough information to show the telecom and software areas, with links that then go to more detailed pages. We want common elements such as a menu bar, header, and footer, with the logo incorporated in the header on all pages. The index page should also allow for a news area where we will put press releases.
From the index page, in addition to conveying immediate information about our company, ideally there would be a clear way to go to one of 2 pages the telecom side and the software side. In addition, there should be a standard navigation bar for Contact Us, About, etc.
On the specific pages for Software and Telecom, the nav bar would have context specific items for software, perhaps a drop-down of the software products we currently offer. For Telecom, a nav bar with Products, Partners, etc. We would like to customize these as the need arises. Each extra page would follow a standard look and feel that we would build.
Some technical details:
We want the site to be CSS based and standards compliant, to run and look the same on IE 6+ and Firefox 2+.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our customers comprise people from various industries - oil and gas is a major sector, constructions, government, mining.
We want to more effectively present information about ourselves - what we do, our clients, etc. in order to present a more professional image when it comes to our website.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We have to have the 3C logo in the website.
