What do you do?
This website FlxFun.com promotes festivals and events in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. You can see the concept if you visit FlxFun.com. None of these banners are very good which is why we've allowed the website to linger. We plan to relaunch the website. The logo will be the only thing we keep.
Do the ad banners need to meet specific size requirements?
No. The large banner in the slider area is 1146 x 458. Eventually, we hope to sell banner spots and would want to adopt standard internet ad sizes. Our original graphic artist was unfamiliar with those standards.
How many different size variations of the ad banner do you need designed?
Just one size, an image that would work in the slider area. Current size is 1146 x 458.
What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your ad banner design
The target audience would be between 30 and 45. The Finger Lakes Region is a "tourism destination". It's the largest wine region in New York State and one of the largest in the United States. Many wine lovers visit this region every weekend. Please see this article: http://www.14850.com/0505638-finger-lake...
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your ad banner design?
We want to promote tourism in the Finger Lakes region. We want to communicate that the events are fun.
How is your company different from your competitors?
FlxFun.com will solicit and promote all types of events and attractions in the Finger Lakes region. We want to be the website that people visit to find something to do on the weekend.
Style and Concept
What ad banner design styles do you like?
Natural. The end result will be a variety of banners that need to (at least) not clash with one another. We intend to control the banners that appear on the homepage in order to avoid clashing. If you look at the FLX destinations section of the homepage, those represent the best of what we currently have.
What colors do you want to see in your ad banner design?
What colors do you NOT want to see in your ad banner design?
What adjectives should best describe your ad banner design?
Fun, exciting, interesting.
What content must be included in the ad banner design?
If you visit FlxFun.com you should have a clear idea.
Do you have additional requirements or links you'd like to share?
This is a contest to find a graphic designer. I don't want to promote FlxFun.com per se, I want to see a banner ad respresenting one of the events we're promotng. Most of the banner ads on the existing version of FlxFun.com are boring. The use words on simple pattern backgrounds. I'm looking for imagery to help communicate ideas. Once again, I think the best ads that represent what I'm looking for is in the FLX Destinations section of the homepage.
