LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Team DADDIO is a group of friends and family who gather each year at the annual JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Relief Foundation) Walk, (http://walk.jdrf.org). The team was formed in memory of my father, Michael James Cook, who passed away from complications of diabetes in December of 2007. We'll be in attendance this year, making it our second year participating in the walk.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We require a t-shirt design for Team DADDIO. The design should consist primarily of a creative use of typography. My father was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins, so any inspiration gathered from their team logo, merchandise, color scheme, etc. adds a bit of value to the end product. Once I have a design, I plan to create a CafePress.com account. In doing so, the logo can be applied to essentially anything, from t-shirts to thongs. My primary focus is the clothing, specifically their assortment of t-shirts. Any design submitted must adhere to the regulations and requirements for "Standard Apparel", which can be gathered from their website, http://www.cafepress.com. The website provides a number of templates which may prove useful.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
The young, old, tall, small, big, little, etc. The design should bring about an air of optimism and celebration, positivity, happy thoughts and all that jazz.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Any design with a creative use of typography. Stay clear of gritty, dark designs or overly cartoonish designs.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
The text "JDRF Walk 2009" should be included, (as well as the text "Team DADDIO," not necessarily in that casing). No memorial-esque imagery, such as crosses or angel wings. Although we gather in memory of him, the event itself has a much greater purpose. I don't see it as a rememberance of lives that have past, but an effort to prolong life for those who deal with diabetes day-to-day as well as a push to find a cure. There's no time to look back while charging forward.
