LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Our company is a new HAWAII based watersports performance apparel brand focused on standup paddling. We already have our logo consisting of our brand name & our icon. (see files attached).
We have done a CS project before - to great success, 539 entries. I truly value all creatives time & entries and I provide ratings & constructive feedback very promptly. I dont want people to follow each other show us YOUR OWN CREATIVITY. I will tell you if you are inline with our likes or dislikes right away. We will award $250 winning design but we WILL definitely consider buying some other entries afterward as well! (possibly up to $500 total.) So your odds of winning or selling your design are increased.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We are looking for a wide variety of wildly creative ideas for screenprint graphic interpretations & treatments of our name & logo on dark shirts - mostly charcoal, black, gray or silver. We also have a default logo art font look for our brand name sweet (though it is not a real font) which youll see in the files. Again use this as a base if you like, but know that we are open to any interpretation - it can be taken off this art OR it can be a completely new graphic or font look - your choice.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Active water sports oriented people involved with (or fans of) standup paddling, surfing, outrigger canoe paddlers, but the sport and our products cross over and also appeals to kayakers, rowing, boating and almost any kind of on watersports in general.
Age ranges is generally from 14 to 55+ years of age. Majority are between 25 - 40. Both male & female. SUP is also an excellent family recreation activity & sport.
Standup Paddling - aka: SUP is the fastest growing watersport - experiencing a huge reincarnation in Hawaii and is now catching on worldwide, virtually anywhere there is a body of water (waves / surf is not required). Hawaii, California, Florida and Texas are the current leading biggest & strongest domestic markets, but it is rapidly gaining popularity all over the US & Canada. Western Europe, is also a quickly emerging market.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
What we want is Fresh, Fun, Clean, Contemporary, Strong - CREATIVE variations of our brand name "sweet" AND our "S" icon logo. We like texturing, blends, fades, gradients, layering, distressing, reverse blocking, drop shadow, eye candy & abstract elements.
Go wild and show us your stuff.
Color(s) are wide open - although our default logo color is the blue gradient or just black or white, you can go with that if you like, but know that we are not set with blue at all.
Clever, subtle tone on tone designs are also good. But do note: the Less # of colors > the better.
We also have a default logo art font look for our name sweet (though it is not a real font) which youll see in the files. For Print Placement (location on the shirt) its pretty open we are EQUALLY open to both traditional horizontal center chest and or center back, IF they show OTHER creative graphic aspects. But know we are also equally open to less traditional print placement such asymmetric, offcenter; vertical side, lower waist &up left side, hip, or any of the many other more abstract - new trend placement looks. Maximum 3 print locations / shirt. Such as Front Back Sleeve. If just 1 placement please put it the front or front side.
1 Extra Star given right away for putting your design onto a photo t-shirt image template - so we can easily envision what it will look like. You can find them, they are out there.

If you are so inclined, you can (but are not required) to seeing designs that creatively use SUP = Standup Paddle type imagery. Google Images for SUP or Standup Paddling for ideas but NO copying partial or otherwise of public photos OR other t-shirt designs online! Use them as a guide only. Some tasteful relevance to Hawaii, Ocean, water surface, beach &/or surf imagery in a simplified graphic context are appropriate and could be other elements but are not required.
What we DO NOT want to see are simple cut & paste of our logo files onto a shirt image that just wont cut it & will earn you 1 star. Also we do NOT want to see anything kitschy or Hawaiian - "touristy" cliche.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
There are few boundaries other than you must use our S icon AND the brand name word sweet somewhere within, as the primary focus elements within the design. Third element or theme is Hawaii as a word or art. These are Brand-building awareness T-shirts with a creative graphic take.
sweet can be either all lower case or all upper case. Our brand represents and uses sweet more as the intensive adjective - in its more current popular urban context.
For screenprinting production cost factor, your design MUST be limited to 1 to 4 spot colors pixilated fades are fine - for shading or blending. Extra points & consideration given to FEWER colors! LESS is definitely More
