What do you do?
We operate a universal information service that allows humanitys best digital content to be received anywhere on Earth, without access to an existing cellular or Internet connection. Outernet enables every person, regardless of income, location, or circumstance, to have access to a continuously updated digital library of content. You can watch this 2 min video about us (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNx3vDSu...) and we highly recommend reading our successful IndieGoGo campaign (http://igg.me/at/outernet) as it contains a lot of information about Outernet. But be careful, this is a T-shirt for Outernet as a company, not our product called Lantern.
It is critical that you familiarize yourself with the way Outernet works, the problem we are solving, and the potential for a world with Outernet in order for your design to be successful.
The Outernet signal is free to receive and will cover the entire globe by the end of 2015. Outernet can broadcast any type of digital file, including news, weather, education materials, health information, entertainment, video, audio, and text. Using Outernet is completely anonymous and untraceable. Because we broadcast in the clear from space, the information we broadcast cannot be censored.
Outernet will select one Best Design from this campaign to receive the CrowdSpring award. Outernet will also select up to four additional designs for T-shirt creation. We will create a TeeSpring campaign (teespring.com) for each selected design. Each campaign will have a minimum of at least (possibly more) 100 shirts. If the minimum number of shirts are sold, Outernet will share 25% of profits from the campaign with the designer. Once this first campaign is complete, no further profits will be shared with the designer. Outernet may run subsequent TeeSpring campaigns with the same design - those profits will not be shared.
List the size requirement(s) for your clothing design
We will be creating TeeSpring campaigns as a result of the designs we receive here. If you think you have an exceptionally awesome design that is not easily put onto the TeeSpring platform, you may submit it but it should be really really awesome because it will take extra cost and effort to make.
What is your industry?
Publishing and Media
Describe the target audience for your clothing design
Anyone in the world who supports the end of censorship, freedom of information, universal education, and the creation of a world where every person can reach their full potential. Many of our customers for these T-shirts will be outside the United States in non-English speaking countries.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your clothing design?
We will select up to five T-shirt designs for creating TeeSpring campaigns. We will choose the best designs in the following categories/themes:
- What is Outernet?
- Ending Censorship with Outernet
- Conveying the enormity of the problem Outernet is solving
- Humanity's Public Library
- Best overall design (CrowdSpring winner)
These are very general and are not meant to be exclusionary of one another; a great design might include one or two or all of those themes. The point is, we will be choosing five different designs that illustrate different aspects of Outernet.
