What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your clothing design?
I want the design to be stand-alone cool, not something you would normally see associated with a sports league t-shirt. A typical league t-shirt is one that you might wear during the league but then will only sees the light of day after the league to go to the gym or something like that. I want our shirts to have the same general appeal as a t-shirt you would walk into a store and buy, simply because the design on it is cool. That way people will wear them around town more often. I don't mind having a very subdued logo/brand because if it is a billboard, no one will wear it. The smaller logo/brand will more than be made up for by the fact that people actually wear the shirt. Then if someone asks them about the cool shirt they are wearing, they will get a description of our league from the wearer. First and foremost is cool. Second is incorporating our logo.
Style and Concept
What clothing design styles do you like?
In general I like designs with a distressing screen over them, just because that is the style now. Or even muted or off-color printing, so the design kind of blends into the shirt. In general I also like smaller designs, because that is the style and girls are much less likely to wear a design that covers their entire front. However, I am not tied to any of those preferences as long as it looks great. Also, I have found that very bright colored shirts are not good because they do not appeal to the masses. Therefore, I think it is safer to stick to basic colors, heathered shirts, etc. Not that everything has to be black or gray, but just not too bright.
How many colors should be used in the design?
No more than 4 but preferably 2 or 3.
What colors do you want to see in your clothing design?
Whatever you think is cool.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your clothing design?
Nothing too bright.
What adjectives should best describe your clothing design?
Cool, modern, hip, casual, wearable, sporty,
How will you use the clothing design?
This shirt will be given to all memebers of our adult kickball league.
What must be included in the clothing design?
Our logo should be incorporated, but it does not need to be the most prominent feature, just an inclusion. Subdued is fine. The 'L figure' within the logo should remain intact. However, the word KIFAC can be moved slightly for design reasons as long as it remains approximately the same size, proportionately to the 'K figure'
Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?
No silhouettes of people playing a sport or kicking a ball. If there is a circle in the design in an abstract way that could be a ball, that's fine. Other than that, stay away from kickball. Make it cool. Make it a great design in general, or make it a cool depiction of our logo in a cool design. Something people will look at and say hey, that's a cool design.
