LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
The Discovery Educator Network (DEN) is the teacher community for Discovery Education, a division of Discovery Communications Inc (yes, this includes the Discovery Channel and such). It is a community of over 100,000 educators collaborating to find ways to improve education by integrating digital media in the classroom. Our top evangelists are our 4500+ STAR Discovery Educators. We support them by providing them professional development opportunities and training materials, and then they share the power of Discovery Education with other educators in their school, district and state.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We're looking for a T-Shirt to give out to teachers during our 2009 National Institute. We'll be bringing close to 100 teachers together for a week of professional development and networking.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Tech-savvy educators. Primarly, our audience is K-12 teachers and tech coordinators. We are a tight community that works hard but also plays hard.
If you'd like to learn more about the DEN and our community, visit denblogs.com and dencommunity.com
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
Don't have any in particular. We're looking for creative ideas!
In general, things to keep in mind is that we're a community of tech savvy educators. We focus primarily on Digital Storytelling and using media in the classroom. The institute is being held in the Boston area this year.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
We'll probably use our primary logo on the front pocket, but we're flexible on that. If you have any idea that involves the front pocket, that's open territory. However, we'd like the logo to be worked in somewhere.
I've included a couple other images that we commonly use including our 'hero' graphic. If you check out http://community.discoveryeducation.com/...... you'll see examples of badges that people use for their blogs to identify themselves as members of our community.
While we are a division of the corporation that owns the Discovery Channel, we do not want graphics or images from any other programs on the networks.
