We will select 2 microsites, each having 4 pages. The pages after the Landing Page should show variations of the template with different block layouts and/or block example content. We are looking for templates that satisfy:
• Farm Themes
• Farming Services Themes

1. These templates will be used with a custom Content Management Systems (CMS).
2. Blocking is very important, as blocks will be populated via CMS.
3. Primary Content categories listed below are examples of what may be selected by the Microsite owner.

Requirements for Farm Themes:
• Header
• Footer
• Navigation Bar
• Main Menu
• Primary Content
• History of Farm
• Farm Products & Services
• Recipes
• Photo Gallery
• About Us
• People
• Animals

• Current Promotion

Do you have additional requirements or links you want to share?

Conceptually the owner of the site will be able to select from a multitude of different “block content” These content blocks will be pulled from the database and the html inserted within the template laying out that block.

Because of this design, layouts need to function with different amounts of copy so that the block can expand vertically.

Brief updates

In looking at the submissions we've seen many that are very nice. In some cases the comments have been "We wish we had a site where we could use this design, it is beautiful (wonderful, etc.)"

The designs we award will be for a CMS. The template will be used on many different websites. The functionality behind the scenes will do much to hide the fact that these websites are using the same template.

Unfortunately there are some things that we can not hide. The largest of those is graphical decorations. For example, putting an image of a bushel of corn on the page might make for a better "feel" for the page but that image is likely to allow visitors to different sites using the same template to easily identify the sites as "using the same template."

This is something we want to avoid. Adding graphical elements to a background image will cause the same issue. Having a plain background pattern might not be spotted, but putting a decoration on that background brands it. Seeing the same brand on multiple websites will tell the visitor that these sites are not unique.

On the other hand having a background image that fades from a top hero image might not be an issue as we can create a few of these background image which combined with a client provided hero image will make the site feel unique in look and feel for each individual website.

It was a pleasure to see so many good designs, your creativity has made the choice of "best" designs extremely difficult for us.

Thank you.
