Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

Business Name

Pure Power Systems

What do you do?

Solar Power Engineering, Construction, Operation

Do you have a desired website screen size?

960px wide

How many pages (maximum of 4) do you need designed?

2 (Home Page, Single Blog Post Page)

What is your industry?

Real Estate and Construction

Describe the target audience for your website design

Solar Contractors, System Owners, Vendors

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your website design

This is a blog-centric webpage. The top banner on the main pages will be about the company, but then everything below that will be original content blog posts.

How is your company different from your competitors?

Our blog content will be bad ass.

What website design styles do you like?

I think im set on the layout of the content, see attached sketches which show locations. Now its up to you to take this layout, and make it beautiful.

I am not at all committed to the following, but these are some things that I saw and like:

1. Top Banner
I like this top menu, how they have the white banner with logo and prominent links, but above that in the small blue strip they have the secondary links. I like how it flows into the main image below it.

2. Top Main Image
I want an image with tabs on the side to select from. http://mepconline.org/ This one shows the type of user interface I’m taking about, but I’ve seen nicer ones.

3. Middle Area info blocks (for services pages)
I like the three info blocks below the main image. We will want something similar.

4. Blog and New Areas
This page shows something similar to what I want, blog summaries on the left two thirds of the page, and news on the right third.

What colors do you want to see in your website design?

Light Blue: #00AAFF
Dark Blue: #000040
Accent colors (red looks particularly good with our blues).

What colors do you NOT want to see in your website design?

any accent color is permissible. stick with white and the blues for the majority of the site.

What adjectives should best describe your website design?

Easy to read, I want someone to look at the page and immediately understand the different sections and not be distracted by graphics that made the site look busy.

What content must be included in the website design?

Links to social sites
Call to Action Form (name, email, etc)

Do you have additional requirements or links you want to share?

here is my current website. it looks nice, but is not good for making a blog the vocal point of it. www.pure-ps.com

The blog articles are a very important part of the page, so make sure you have a title above the first blog summary. place more emphasis on that title. Also, instead of the text "blog posts", use the text "Value Engineering Tip of The Week".

the website http://simpson.edu/ has an example of a text box over their blog summaries that has potential.

After the 3 or 4 blog summaries, have a nice looking button that says something like "view more value engineering tips".

Thank you everyone for following my requested format. If you have any ideas and want to break out and experiment with a slightly different layout, i would be open to seeing it. however, it must have the same components (blog summaries, news summaries, call to action, main informational banner, etc.
Just keep in mind, the general idea was to keep the top part static information about the company, and the bottom part constantly updating content, news, and discussions.
I think my layout suits these needs the best, but you are welcome to try to show me otherwise.
