What do you do?
How many pages of print design do you need?
List the size requirement(s) for your print design
ebook cover will be 600x800pix but I would like the artwork done with enough resolution to use for Print on Demand cover that is 6x9inches add a bit of padding for trim.
What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your print design
Teens from 12 to 18 males, but females will like the story as well.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?
Scale (our heroes are swept into a huge world)
Sense of Wonder
Style and Concept
What print design styles do you like?
Study what's current in Teen adventure/sci fi novel covers. I prefer illustrations rather than photographs.
What colors do you want to see in your print design?
black, dark blues, greens (depends on how you choose to interpret my guidelines) There should be good contrast. Not all black. Needs to pop as a thumbnail on Amazon.com kindle store.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?
What adjectives should best describe your print design?
mysterious, sense of wonder, cool, exciting, adventurous
How will you use the print design?
I will use this design for my ebook cover and print on demand book. Also will be used in promotion: online advertising, bookmarks and posters.
What content must be included in the print design?
The title of the book is Undermountain, which is a huge secret city built deep beneath the mountains.
I'd like to see designs that have mountains/caves as a graphical element.
I want the cover to depict at least two characters. Danny is a 16 years old boy with intense eyes, tall and lean with unruly brown hair (for clothes, think skater, short sleeve t-shirt over a long sleeve t-shirt). Breyona is a very, very pretty 16 year old black girl. (she wears jeans and a hoodie that says All Saints Academy across the front).
NOTE: This is NOT primarily romance story, its not dystopian or urban fantasy and it's not paranormal. It's an action adventure with Sci Fi elements.
There needs to be a sense of action, running, being chased, being separated from each other. They might be nearly holding hands, but not quite. Looking in surprise or fear at something large and menacing that's just out of view. clothes might be ripped or torn or dirty. Hair might be loose. the characters might be looking over their shoulders in fear.
It could be outside in the wilderness with mountains in the background, or it could be going into a cave.
I'm also open to more abstract designs. Or even concepts that don't features my characters if you get inspired. I try to provide lots of feedback. Entice that 14 year old boy or girl to want to find out more about the story.
Required Text. The title should be much larger than the author name.
