Tyler L. Chessman
Over $13 trillion in debt. Annual deficits of over $1 trillion. How did the United States end up in such a horrible financial condition? Where is all the money going, and what will happen in the future? Can we ever become a debt free nation?
In Understanding the United States Debt, we trace the history of the federal government's debt over the last 220 years. The components of the debt are identified, along with annual outlays (expenses) and receipts. We also take a look at the budgeting process, where we're headed in the future, and cautionary tales from other countries. We end with a discussion of how to become debt free.
Written in laymen's terms, each chapter is brief, to the the point, and includes several graphs to help the reader easily visualize the concepts and trends being discussed.
