Business Info

Business Name

David Eccles School of Business

What do you do?

As you may have guessed from the name we are a business school. We are part of the University of Utah, where we are ranked #1 in the country for starting businesses on campus. The school offers programs that are typical of top business schools including Undergraduate, MBA, Master of Accounting, as well as a few others. The focus of the school is grounded in entrepreneurism.

How many pages of print design do you need?

2 different posters, one for each element of student services.

List the size requirement(s) for your print design

Standard Poster Size
A1: 841mm x 594mm, 33.11 inches x 23.39 inches

Target Audience

What is your industry?

Describe the target audience for your print design

The poster is to be used by two departments that make up Student Services. Business Careers Center and Business Student Advising both should promote a back to school message. Both serve undergrads and graduate level students, so it needs to appeal to a wide audience (18 - 30).

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?

For the Business Careers Center the most important is a call to attend the Career Service Center Open House on Monday, August 23rd: Noon-2PM and Tuesday, August 24th: 4-6PM. Second, the careers center recently expanded service offerings as part of a new initiative to expand student services at the business school. The center now serves both undergraduate and graduate students.
For the Business School Advisors Center the most important message is an invite to come visit an Advisor. The second is to state that Undergraduate Advisors have moved to lower level of the BuC Building and Graduate Advising is in the same spot.

Style and Concept

What print design styles do you like?

Fairly open to ideas. The center did ask for something that has a retro flair.

I would like to have both posters look similar with subtle differences.

What colors do you want to see in your print design?

Definitely red. Possibly white and black.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?

What adjectives should best describe your print design?

Can't Ignore

How will you use the print design?

It will posted around the school to promote changes in student services

What content must be included in the print design?

School logo

Must be two posters, similar but different. One for Business Careers Center and the other for Business Student Advising.
