Perhaps lettering out of or surrounded by the blue flames.

Blurb ~149 words on top of page.
Erynn Yager, newly commissioned Interceptor fighter pilot, knows sacrifice. Her battle against an alien enemy intent on destroying her worlds set her on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, all while learning to master her secret abilities. With the alien threat crushed, Erynn believes the worst is behind her and settles in to experience first love and a changed life on a hidden military base deep inside a glacier covered mountain on Arranon.

Her peaceful existence doesnt last.

The evil half-blood sovereign of an underworld realm, Dhoran, rises from the dead to possess a human surface dwellers body. His intent, rule all of Arranon, by force.

A brutal murder deep in an unoccupied chamber below the base leads Erynn first in visions, then physically to a diverse world beneath the surface teeming with danger mystery, and beauty, increasing her connection to the heart and soul of a living Arranon.

Picture of Author below blurb.

Caverns, fires, rock formations, shadows, and Tine, a character from the book.
See description of Tine from book excerpt below.

Tine chuckled, moved away. Thats only one answer. You have courage. Thats good. Youll need it.
A torch ignited with a sputtering hiss in the dark. Erynn squinted and shaded her eyes at the sudden brightness.
Before her stood a creature slightly taller than she was. He had a round face and a flattened muzzle, like a Katjaramuud (cat) but without the whiskers. Pointed ears protruded from the side of his head. He stared at her with large, green, almond-shaped eyes. Muscles bunched under his loose gray clothing. Slim, tapered fingers ended in sharp claws. He wore no boots on his broad, short, clawed feet. His body communicated deadly strength and speed.
He smiled, showing his teeth, the two on the sides long and sharp. He bowed. His shadow capered in the flickering light of his fiery wand. Welcome to my world, Erynn Yager. The smile fell from his thin lips. His eyes narrowed. His flat nose twitched. Now, how did you get here? The truth, he warned in a low growl.
I found a hatch in the floor. Erynn bit her lip and glanced up. In the building above. I opened it and climbed down the ladder.
Tine shook his head. Long red-gold hair shimmered and waved in the torchlight. No. Not just anyone could find, let alone open the access to the portal. The doorway was sealed by surface magic hundreds of years ago. The entrance is guarded by the spirits of those that placed the old enchantments there. He pulled out the ancient dagger her father left her. How did you come by this? He handed it to her. In a breathy voice he asked, Who are you?
She slipped the dagger inside her coat, back in the pocket. Ive already answered that question. Who are you, Tine?
I am from the Socar Batah race. He beckoned her forward, toward the fires and the figures in the distance. Shifters are Dhorans henchmen. Theyre not very intelligent. He chuffed. The Socar Batahs are where Dhoran draws his elite squad. Like Anbas to your people. He stopped, glanced back. Please, follow me. I told you. You wont be harmed. I need to return to the heat. The air is cold for me here, this close to the surface.

Synopsis

In Storm of Arranon Erynn Yager's very birth was forbidden. Yet special abilities from her blended parentage were all that stood between an invading alien force and annihilation. Her powers created a chain reaction, a catalyst that saved her worlds and led to the death of the merciless enemy who brutally murdered her father.

Roused by the violent energy of this interplanetary war, in Storm of Arranon: Fire and Ice, the slain ruler of an underworld realm rises from the dead. Possessing a body by force, he walks among the innocent, gathering an inhuman army. He grows powerful, focused on his objective to rule Arranon both above and below.

The only hope is to stop the slaughter before it begins. Erynn is thrust into the conflict with this ancient evil of Arranon's underworld. She must find the portals he uses to travel between the surface and his cavernous kingdom, then seal them . . . forever. In her pursuit, she enters a magical domain deep inside Arranon, shocked at who and what she discovers. Returning to the surface, caught unprepared in an intense blizzard, Erynn's journey and her life are jeopardized.

But an unprecedented storm of chaos is building. The threat from the underworld pales, as an alignment in the galaxy points toward Arranon, ushering in a fateful event that rips away everything Erynn has come to love, shattering her beliefs of reality, time, and space, altering her destiny.
