Inspired by classics like The Legend of Zelda, SONG OF LOCKE is the story of a boy trying to save a princess, a girl he hardly knows but who he cant stop thinking about. The adventure begins when a villains curse turns the Land of Many Waters into a desolate wasteland, covered by a black sky. On his adventure, Locke encounters fallen warriors, ancient ruins, fairy havens, snarling wolves, and dragon flightsall in a quest to break the cursed skies and rescue the mysterious girl. Youll cheer and maybe weep as Locke dares, struggles, and hopes, searching his soul for the heroic gift that will save the land and heal his broken heart.

Style and Content
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Probably mostly a Link (Zelda) green with highlights of a bright red, magic blue, and glowing white.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your design?
I'm pretty open (see examples).
Describe the style(s) you like (traditional, modern, etc.)
It should mimic Nintendo's Legend of Zelda artwork. It could even go ToonLink style, if it's done right (maybe as a stained glass style--as in the RED cover in the examples). But I don't prefer ToonLink. Probably something like Twilight Princess or the most realistic versions of Skyward Sword.
What content must be included in your design?
SONG OF LOCKE
The Dark Empyrean
This text can go on the front and the spine. The back can be empty of text, but needs some sort of abstract texture as a minimum (and a good place for a barcode).
I'm much more concerned about the illustration than the typography. If you can give me a heroic picture, I'll choose you. The type is a nice bonus. If you want you can copy some of the designs I've already done. But the deal breaker is the picture. (I want a layered file, either PSD or AI, whichever you use, and I'll probably adjust the design after you send it--the spine width is likely to change anyway.) My favorite is the attached file called Hero in Green.
I think it should feature Locke (like Link without a cap) on the front. It should have Picke (a blue-glowing sylphe--basically just a light, possibly with abstract looking wings) over his shoulder. He could be surrounded by menacing gnarled trees, if the design doesn't get too dark. It could also show an open landscape with mountains and thick clouds with lighting overhead. But again, it would need to avoid looking too depressing.
