The date is 1439 and Eduardo Ferrucci, a young Italian, unwittingly caught up in a conspiracy by the agents of foreign powers, is sent into exile to act as a spy for Florence in Constantinople. The Turkish forces have surrounded the city and are on the verge of invading Europe. But Ferruccis first love was always books and during his exile he searches for a secret text part of which he had discovered in a Greek codex during his time in Florence. After a search lasting many years, he finds and deciphers the whole text and is able to locate documents which have a decisive influence on the history of European culture.
This edition includes an introduction by the translator describing the discovery of the original manuscript of the story as well as a translation of one of the documents located by Ferrucci.

I will look at any idea but I like the feel of the CreateSpace layout shown in the file below (also in the Penguin layout below) which has a sober feel to it. The central line connecting back and front covers and the title etc at the bottom of the book. I want something solid rather than flashy. The attached file shows a Scimitar.
