LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are merely one woman who represents a few massage therapy interest groups: my ten year massage therapy practice (AIM Massage.com), the Albuquerque Massage Therapy Network (aimmassage.com/amtn or look up our group page on Facebook) and I've been an instructor at a massage therapy school in Albuquerque for ten years. We are concerned that only 14% of the American public receives massage therapy services and it's time to bring some attention to the massage therapy profession (at least in Albuquerque, New Mexico...and yes, Albuquerque is in the U.S.).

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We would like to have a eye-catching flyer / press release / advertisement that will be used first as an ad during Everybody Deserves a Massage Week (July 19-25, 2009) and subsequently as potentially a billboard display or informational flyer. Please keep printing costs in mind, i.e., four color or black and white options.

We are hoping to educate the public about the physiological effects of massage therapy. Massage therapy is so much more than a day at the spa with your girlfriends! Massage therapy is complementary medicine (not a form of alternative or "instead of" medicine) to all forms of health care!

We are looking for using the word massage as the foundation of the design, but bringing to light the effects of massage: increases seratonin, decreases pain, decreases nausea in patients undergoing chemotherapy, increases dopamine, decreases depression, decreases low back pain...you can find more at http://www.massagetherapy.com/learnmore/... or http://www6.miami.edu/touch-research/

Another term we'd like to see used in the design is manual therapy, if possible.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Women primarily seek massage therapy services (85%), so perhaps directing the design toward a feminine audience would be prudent. I want doctors and nurses to pay attention to this ad...we will be sending this directly to their offices.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

I like www.puremassage.com and bcmt.org...both convey professional images of the profession!

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Nothing woo-woo, sexual, psychedelic, alternative...we are providing a medical service and I would like to see massage viewed in that light!
