LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Maggies Promise is an all natural dog treat. This idea/concept, project is very special and dear to me. It was created on the tail of loss, and what is all good in this world; love, respect, admiration, companionship and relationship, when I lost what some refer to as their heart dog. These are dogs that come along once in a lifetime if you are very very lucky. Maggie was my heart dog, a Yellow Labrador whose life was cut short on Nov. 15,2007. It started in my kitchen in February 2008, when I decided to bring home a new pup to fill the missing space.

After Maggies passing, I did a great deal of research into dog food, puppy raising, dog life and training. I made the choice to feed a raw natural diet. To coincide w/ this type of diet I needed a complement of training treats, raw and natural. Resources for a main diet are plentiful, but for treats. there is a void. I queried a lot of people and forums for what they used and no one had a good answer. so I began making my own. As many other great success stories, this started in my garage- as a matter of speaking, from the heart. I am hoping to make this into a national brand, but this is a one man operation at night and weekends with whatever money I can spare from my job which like all of us is not much. But I respect others time and effort, so I will offer what I can.

I am looking for a brand-look and logo that will transcend a message to all dog owners, young and old, that it is love, all-natural, healthy & nutritional. I have the beginnings of what I would like to see, but am open to other ideas and directions. The idea I have combines a leaf and a dog tail together. I also can envision incorporating a heart to the leaf and tail. I would like to see the brand contain the name and an icon for logo-ing purposes. It needs to display trust and confidence without looking corporate. The branding imagery will be primarily for the bag, so a simple logo is not the answer, but rather the complete bag label imagery that contains the dog treats. The label size will need to fit a bag size 4x6.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

I am looking to create a logo and a bag label which after I get this off the ground will transfer to a full bag design. This will require a back panel lable which will include a history of why MP exists and our promise. So a matching font to tie the design together. Phase two will be a website design posted here, so this will need to bridge over to a website.

Secondarily, a second color scheme for a different packaging w/ second design, one for treats, and the other for dog trainers.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

The audience for this product are dog lovers, and dog trainers. It will not target the average dog owner, so this is a niche market. The unique factor w/ this product is it is sourced, produced and packaged in the U.S. This is a huge benefit, the dog food deaths in the recent past were linked to China produced foods. I control all aspects to ensure safety and quality to our food. We are also small, and is done with much love, care and concern. I feed it to my dog, and if it is safe for her, I can be sure it is safe for my customers dog(s).

This will also be displayed against other dog treat products in retail stores, so a bright eye catching design is crucial to the success of someone trying the product.
