What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?

Modern, distinctive design... This book is professional, serious, and important ... no flowery fonts.

The author of this book is a medical doctor and expert who can be trusted and seen as an authority.

This health problem is serious! It is a public health crisis!

Style and Concept

What print design styles do you like?

The author likes a certain color red to be used in her covers. I am including as uploaded files, 2 past covers she has done, "The Lyme Diet" and "Lyme Disease in Australia". You don't have to match these designs, but you should use the same red color in parts of the design.

In general this cover should be professional and sleek, not flowery, busy, or over done. You can use some graphics or stock art, but don't over use it. Here is an example of a cover we like:

We are going for simple, clean, sleek. HOWEVER, if you have a better idea, please share it! We may like your idea more than ours!

What colors do you want to see in your print design?

see my comments above. We want the red to be part of the cover, other matching / complimentary colors are up to you. Be creative.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?

no flowery pink, etc., but we are open minded. Be creative, there are a lot of Lyme books on the market and we want this to stand out.

What adjectives should best describe your print design?

professional, interesting, subtle, important, breakthrough, healing, disease epidemic, public health threat, take this seriously!

Back cover text:

CNN has reported that the number of Lyme disease cases in the United States has doubled since 1991. Caused by spiral-shaped bacteria known as Borrelia burgdorferi, Lyme disease is transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected tick. The disease is also typically accompanied by many related problems, including co-infections by other kinds of microorganisms, hormonal dysfunction, immune system dysregulation, and other related issues. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) now recognize Lyme disease as the fastest spreading vector-borne disease in the country, yet most practitioners of mainstream medicine are decades behind in recognizing and addressing this emerging health crisis.

This comprehensive book is the first book of its kind to approach Lyme disease from the perspective of "beginners" -- those doctors, patients and caregivers who are new to the topic of diagnosing and treating Lyme disease. Dr. Nicola McFadzean, a well-respected and experienced Lyme doctor, has woven together a complete guide to the treatment and management of Lyme disease. This beginners guide contains clearly written, easy-to-understand information, reflecting Dr. McFadzean's knowledge and experience in both traditional and alternative medical paradigms.

If you or a loved one were just diagnosed with Lyme disease, or if you are a caregiver or family member to someone with Lyme disease, this book should be your first stop. It will give you the tools and resources to get started on the journey back to health.

Author Bio:

Dr. McFadzean is a Lyme-literate Naturopathic Doctor, trained in both the United States and her native country of Australia. She specializes in combining conventional and integrative approaches to treating Lyme and other tick-borne illness. She is the founder and Medical Director of RestorMedicine in San Diego, California, and also sees patients at her office in Australia. Dr. McFadzean is a member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS).

No price on book cover

You can get an idea of the author's past 2 books by seeing attached files to this Crowdspring project.

I need files in Photoshop format when they are done.

Try to leave room somewhere on the front or back cover for a short blurb from a book endorsement, for now you can put a fake blurb and fake name in for this as a space holder if you want.

Be creative, we are open minded. Search Amazon.com for existing Lyme books and try to do something new and unique!
