Synopsis
Kevin has just turned twelve and his world is about to be turned upside down. He makes a wish when he blows out the candles on his cake; a wish he had no idea would come true or what the consequence of that wish would be.
He learns that his father is dead and has been for nine years but Kevin knows it is not true. He decides to go on a quest to learn the truth and find him, but finds more than he bargained for.
With his newfound friend Nivek, who happens to be an Alien, Kevin goes on a journey where he rescues a young American boy named Kieran from being stoned to death. Their long and arduous journey takes them through a mountain where their help is again needed by one of the occupants, help they would sooner not give.
Just when they thought things were going their way their hopes are dashed as they get into more trouble and may have to postpone their quest.
Can Kevin do what is expected of him? How will his journey end? Will he ever find his father? But more important, will he ever find himself?
Ke'Valien is a Trilogy, the first book is called: 'First Encounter', the second is called: 'Current Quest' and the third will be called: 'Search for Truth'. I would like the cover to let the reader know where in the Trilogy the title resides.

Target Audience
Who are your readers?
The book is written more for boys than girls who are in the age range 9 - 15. This Demographic is underutilised so I have kept the text as simple and as easy to read as I can using the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level scoring.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your readers with this design?
First and foremost I would like to convey a sense of adventure from the moment they see the front cover, all the way to reading the last page. I would also like to see if possible friendship and camaraderie with a little humour thrown in.
Style and Content
