Taproot specializes in education through the media arts. We make learning fun. We engage children and communities in a filmmaking experience that uses neuroscience to promote learning. Now we are ready to teach others how to do this. We teach the filmmaker to become the tripod and move like professional equipment. No more boring footage or propping your camera on a tripod. You become the tripod and learn how to quickly move low, high, pan, tilt or move like a dolly track. It's quick, it's easy, it's fun and it gives your movie a professional look within minutes.
Who are your viewers?
I have three niche audiences depending on how they choose to use the how to video. The majority will be student filmmakers or schools with a media arts class. Community groups wanting to use the media arts for social marketing will also need to know "how to" make a movie, and if a teacher or parent chooses to use the concept of "freeze for the camera" then this process is perfect. It was originally designed to be used with children who had special needs so they could learn to control themselves and not have to be controlled by others.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your viewers with this design?
1. This is guerilla filmmaking...it's just you and your camera. Fast, efficient, time and cost saving, using only what you have on hand at any given moment.
2. Using these strategies, you get a Hollywood flair. High shots, low shots, panning across and tilting up and down. You learn to move like an expensive dolly track moves. Your instant movie looks like it was filmed with professional moviemaking equipment.
3. It's fun. It's funny. Everyone has a good time because it is so very different than anything filmmaker or actor/participants have ever done.
Style and Content
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Our primary business color is a rich teal. In the "how to" video we stress learning 3 different options and then mixing and matching for variety. Using TEAL as the primary color, I'd like two other complimentary colors and then mix and match those 3 colors. (different shades, different intensity, etc.) The point of the video is "the power of three.
Do not use orange, simply because I don't like it.
Describe the style(s) you like (traditional, modern, etc.)
It needs to be current enough to attract young people, traditional enough to attract teachers and clear enough for community groups. Time and cost effective is essential,(guerilla filmmaking) yet this also teaches how to get a professional look from any home movie, class project or community media project. (that's the Hollywood flair)
I need the cover design to compliment the subject matter and tone, plus be easy to read, enticing and draw in the reader
