M30 Retail Services
What do you do?
M30 is using our connections in the retail industry to branch out into on shelf displays. This project is a first of its kind for the company and it involved designing a shelf display for a private label brand in Canada for the Retailer SOBEYS. The project is for their pharmacy products that fall under the private label brand Compliments. Their products are similar to Tylenol, Advil, and other over the counter drugs.
How many pages of print design do you need?
1 shelf display as per the attached template
List the size requirement(s) for your print design
approx 78 x 55 in Design is for a fixture with a specific shape. A template has been provided.
What is your industry?
Advertising and Marketing
Describe the target audience for your print design
The target audience for the products we are looking at for this project are price conscious shoppers who are in need of Over the Counter medicines, and that don't mind using a private label substitute for known popular brands like Tylenol and Advil. These would be families of middle to upper middle class looking for effective value based medicinal products..
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?
If you use this name brand product you should try this private label product. (a list of name brand and their relative no name brand products is provided.
"Compliments Brand Quality for Less!"
"Compliments-logo Compliments brand products offer exceptional value for high quality alternatives to brand name products. From health products, such as allergy and pain relief, to beauty, from snacks to bath essentials, buying Compliments products adds up to big savings at the register while delivering the quality you expect."
Style and Concept
What print design styles do you like?
We are designing for a shelf display that is basically part of the shelf. There if a front panel, and 2 side panels that need to grab the customers attention + inform them of no name brand products and their higher priced counterparts. It is for a pharmacy so think medicinal style with some wow factor that is not too over the top. A deck with real life examples produced by our Asian partners has been provided.
What colors do you want to see in your print design?
the main colour for the display should be pms 287, white, and black
What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?
colors that don't match with overall theme.
What adjectives should best describe your print design?
crisp, clean, informative, healthy, quality, value pricing
How will you use the print design?
The print design will be printed on a chloroplast sheet that is cut into the shape of a shelf frame. It will be placed on what is called an end cap in a retail store. there is a front and 2 sides that will need to be incorporated into the design. Images of a non imaged cut out have been provided in the attached Design template and pics of blank fixture.zip file.
What content must be included in the print design?
Product images that compare branded and private label items to each other. There is a Use This, Try this theme to the campaign. SO if a customer uses Tylenol (branded product) regularly there is an equivalent private label item we want to direct the customer to try. Sample images of the use this, try this images and branded and corresponding private label images has been provided. Typical use is to place an image of a branded product with a use this label, and then in relation to this a private label equivalent item with a try this label. See attached use_this_try_this_sample.png file attached.
