What do you do?
The book title is:
Marketing Moxie -
Connecting with Customers, and Strategies for Explosive Business Growth
(then below the line the term - "A Parable for Business Professionals"
This is an approximate 200 page book.
I am a marketing, strategy and leadership expert who works with companies and organizations who want to get explosive business growth.
As a speaker (motivational) and consultant I travel internationally to work with corporations, universities, government and associations.
This particular project is for the front and back covers, spine of a book. A "logo" (made from the "Marketing Moxie" part of the the book title would be awesome) that could be used throughout the inside of the book for a graphic that caused some continuity would be great.

List the size requirement(s) for your print design
The book size is 6 by 9 with the spine approximately 9/16ths of an inch wide.
Leave room on the back of the book for copy, photo of author, bar code, ISBN number.
What is your industry?
The book is writtent to business people who want more marketing skills and leaders who need to get "top line" revenue growth.
Describe the target audience for your print design
Ages 30 to 55, both sexes, they will be all types of business people. Small business owners, association executives, executives and professionals who want to develop their marketing skills (doctors/lawyers/accounts/bankers) I work with Chambers of Commerce and ALL of their various members, hospitals, manufacturing, educators. The one thing these customers all have in common is the desire to grow their business and they sometimes don't feel like they have the marketing and strategy skills to do that. The book is written to and for this group.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?
1. You can get marketing skills that will cause your business to explode
2. All leaders will want to read this book because it will give them cutting edge ideas on listening to the customer, developing creativity, communicating your value
3. This book is an entertaining and engaging read. Seriously, those who have read the galleys are ranting.
Style and Concept
What print design styles do you like?
I would leave this to your expertise. I do like white covers (Blink, Tipping Point, Who moved my cheese) but they white covers often get lost on a white table cloth (which is where my books are often sold . . in the back of room during/after I speak at a convention/conference.)
What colors do you want to see in your print design?
Solid, strong business colors. My books are often sold "back of the room" so having something that stands out on a table top is great.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?
What adjectives should best describe your print design?
eye catching, should scream "pick me up"
adjectives: Explosive, creative, innovative, eclectic, Proactive, mysterious, business growth, synergy, partnership, make things happen.
How will you use the print design?
It will be on the book, the cover will be represented on programs where I will be speaking, on my website where copies will be sold, on Amazon.com. Also the Marketing Moxie "logo/typeface" will be used on a mock business card that is used through the storyline of the book.
What content must be included in the print design?
Marketing Moxie . . .predominantly on the cover.
The spine is the part of the book that is most seen. So on the spine we just want the words "Norton" and "Marketing Moxie" big enough that they can be seen from a distance across the room when this book sits on the shelf.
The back cover is more for graphics with the author being able to put copy, testimonials and photos on top of the graphics of the EPS file.
