Daniel Ethan Harris
What do you do?
I write, teach, and lead retreats on Christian Spiritual Formation and blog at www.salvationlife.com.
This book accompanies an experiential retreat on prayer in which I introduce participants to historic practices of prayer through the means of praying with other people's words, praying without words, and praying with their own words.

What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your print design
Adults open to spirituality from a Christian perspective
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?
1. Eye-catching and Inviting: That the cover would catch the eye and convey an invitation, like something they would want to read with coffee by a fireplace rather than read as a textbook.
2. Spiritual: It can have a particularly Christian symbol or not, but something that communicates openness to living a spiritual life. It's okay, but not necessary, to convey something that is old, since the methods discussed in the book have been around a long time, yet are being presented in new ways.
3. Not wimpy :): In light of the first two items, keep in mind that the cover should appeal to sincere spiritual seekers of both genders.
Style and Concept
What print design styles do you like?
Simple and clean, without "visual noise."
Here are nine examples of simple/clean book covers I like, though their subject matter may or may not have anything in common with mine, in no particular order:
What colors do you want to see in your print design?
I am open to designers' ideas.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?
What adjectives should best describe your print design?
From those listed above:
(Something old such as an old wooden chair, old door, etc. that communicates these things have been around a long time could be good, though not required)
How will you use the print design?
Printed book cover and also adapted for e-book cover
What content must be included in the print design?
