What do you do?
ABOUT THE BOOK
Do you play online, first-person shooter games? What if, without knowing it, you would steer a roboter which does the shooting for real, in the real world? You shoot at tanks, but in reality you fight real people or animals.. What if your excellent game skills would be abused to train an army of robots (drones)?
The story Im telling shows the two sides of this - the player side, the reality in which the drones are trained. In the plot, one player finally realizes what he does and reacts with a team kill, online.
Theres some love in the story, but mostly its about the fact that the reality that the player sees is not what happens. He thinks he plays, but in some village people get shot for real.
The story plays in todays Berlin for the player characters and I have some middle-east villages in mind for the place where the drones are tested.
Pretty dark, aint it. But then worth to write about because we are not so far away from it. Already today, armed robots are flying around and participate in combat. Making them think for themselves is the logical next step.

Describe the target audience for your print design
I think the reader is male, computer addict, possibly online gamer. The players of counter strike should find themselves in the cover, as much as the players of any other first person shooter. The shooting is not the main thing though, the key thing is the twist that the perceived reality in the game is the reality of the person who loses his or her family to some fighting machine.
The reader should be able to have this book lying around in his living room without looking like a total geek ;)
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?
Its a cool book if you like online games and / or are scared of the powers of computers!
Its a cool gift for your 16yo nephew/son!
And - if you have read Neuromancer, seen the Matrix, liked Highlander, this is for you.
Style and Concept
What print design styles do you like?
I think my readers like myths, secrets, computers, online games. I can imagine to retake the style of games like counter strike.
The cover must stick out. Can be dangerous and/or a bit scary.
What colors do you want to see in your print design?
It's a dark story.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?
it's not a love story and not funny.
What adjectives should best describe your print design?
Cool, fresh, hard, scary, realistic.
How will you use the print design?
I will publish the book online and offline, so I do need a cover which looks good in small as well as in large. Another option would be to have an Iconic version of the cover and a large one for print.
The book will be downloadable for free and I will ask the reader to pay what they think it is worth.
What content must be included in the print design?
The title and the subtitle.
Title: First Person
Subtitle: Is it a game or reality?
