A historical romance, the Reencounter takes place in the Venetian Empire of the late Renaissance. Mikhaela is planning her life together with her lifelong partner, Elias, when she falls in love with Alessio, a young officer appointed for temporary work in her city. Soon she has to make an important choice in her life: To follow her heart and start an adventure into an unknown and promising world or to remain in the safety of a mediocre present? Beginning a search into her inner world she discovers her true nature, her other half, her wishes and her forgotten dreams, all of them pointing her to a single direction: The direction that her logic wants to avoid. This book sheds light on the most difficult choices in life: The choices where the heart and the mind disagree.

Who are your readers?
My readers are people that enter a phase in their life where they reevaluate what they have been doing until now and recognize that there must be something deeper than a regular life. Then they start searching the answer to the question: "What do I really want in life". This question leads to a journey, a journey described in this book. This book is not a late night read before going to sleep, the target audience is readers that are looking for something more sophisticated who will relate to their specific point of time in life.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your readers with this design?
1. There are times that life brings a choice. Choice has to be taken fast, otherwise all options expire.
2. In every significant choice we must select between the good and the better or the bad and the worst.
3. Although there is no clear path for this selection, there are always signs that show the way. Some signs show to the direction we want to take and some to the direction that will delay us. Every direction will ultimately lead to the same result. The only way to unserstand which signs guide us and which mislead us is to connect to our inner voice, the voice of the feeling, and remain in silence.

Describe the style(s) you like (traditional, modern, etc.)
I have imagined a classical style to be in sync with the book's time period which is in the years 1690-1715. So I would rather say that modern style would not fit the content of the book.
What content must be included in your design?
I have imagined the cover to include one image that communicates the main idea of the book, which is the choice between the reasonable and the one craved by the heart. I have designed myself a temporary book cover for the online version of the book, which will be replaced by the new cover:
What I like about this cover is that it shows the main characters in the story: The couple (Mikhaela and Elias) that are about to get married and the lover (Alessio) who is standing on the one path. I also like the signpost which is too complicated to be understood and the small sign which shows the way, although in the first look it comes unnoticed.
What I don't like about is that the photo is not matching with the Greek landscapes (mountainous and dry) and the age when the book was written (17th crentury). People are not wearing appropriate clothes for that age and the hairstyle of the girl is too modern.
I would like to describe with the main image a dream of Michaela that can be read here (1st paragraph):
