[Description of Contents]:
For Businesses, Filmmakers, Marketers and . yes even lawyers!
Unless youve been living under a rock, by now youve noticed that almost every major company, and increasingly, small businesses, are promoting their products and services with sweeps and contests. Shamelessly bribing people to visit your website by offering a prize just makes sense, right? Well . . . right!
During my tenure at Walt Disney Studios, close to 80% of my work involved sweeps and contests. And you will learn in this book about some very successful promotions that didnt require hardly any advertising dollars. Imagine. Drawing traffic to your website without having to pay for expensive advertising. Big upside.
But, wait, you say. Arent sweeps and contests highly regulated by state and federal law? Dont I need a lawyer?
Well yes, and no. Sweeps and Contests (and they are two different things) are highly regulated. However, I believe that once you understand the legal concepts, you can do some basic sweeps and contests on your own, and if you decide to do a more complicated promotion that requires a lawyer, you will at least know enough to do a lot of the legwork so your legal bill wont give you a heart attack.
In this very practical book, you will learn:
- Why sweeps and contests are such a powerful marketing tool
- What makes a promotion illegal
- What you need to know to comply with the law, step-by-step
- Special considerations for user-generated contests
- What needs to go into your Official Rules and other forms
- The rules you must follow on various popular social media sites
- When you need a lawyer.
- And much more! (including some basic templates to help you do your own)
In this book, I bring to you the content I have been sharing in seminars for years. Here are what folks like you have said about my workshops on this subject:
"LOVED this course! Interesting subject. Good presentation." - Joanna (Lakeland, FL)
"I never even thought of this as a practice area until I listened to this presentation." - William (RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA)
"Extremely knowledgeable! " - Marilyn (, )
