Balm Chicky Balm Balm
What do you do?
We make delicious, organic lip balms with a 70s porn theme. We're fun, sexy, and kitschy.
How many pages of print design do you need?
We need a character designed who will be the face of our Huge Cucumber flavored balm. His head shot will be on the tube label.
List the size requirement(s) for your print design
We can get you exact measurements, but essentially this will have to fit on a lip balm tube. The tube we use is uniquely patented and is slightly shorter and fatter than a regular tube of balm.
What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your print design
In general, women 18-45 with small amounts of disposable income who will make an impulse buy then keep buying when they realize both the quality of the balm, the fun of the brand and the usefulness of our tube.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?
1) Bold, sexy, retro, 70s, eye catching characters with a lot of 'vibe'. Think "Boogie Nights".
2) Characters are a line of balms so they need to align with one another. We already have two characters completed - Juicy Melons and Hot Chocolate Love (see our facebook page under Balm Chicky Balm Balm). We're looking for a third to join the crew. With the right person, we'll want additional characters as well.
3) We are not looking for 'cartoony' or too illustrated. We want depth created by shadows, smooth lines and a flow. The characters will be placed under our logo (see facebook for the example). Head shots will be on the actual label but full body poses will be used for the website and marketing materials. We ask that you either submit a head shot or full body pose. If you do a head shot we will want a full body pose by the end of our time working together.
Style and Concept
What print design styles do you like?
Please see our Balm Chicky Balm Balm facebook page to see our current characters. Your should match these images in a line up.
What colors do you want to see in your print design?
Huge Cucumber is shades of green, like cucumbers!
What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?
We're not completely against a burst of another color if you think it looks really sharp but it's going on a small label so we want it to be cohesive.
What adjectives should best describe your print design?
As mentioned before, sexy, kitschy, flowing, not cartoony, hip, 70s, vibe, strong, sensual.
How will you use the print design?
These characters will be placed under our logo (hopefully by you by the end of our time together) and placed on a Friend End tube (see BCBB facebook page for more information). Designs will also be used for online and print marketing material.
What content must be included in the print design?
Logo (we will provide to you) including the lines around the character and the character itself.
