Jill M. LeCount
As Marie LeClaire grieves from the devastating loss of her beloved husband, this middle-aged widow finds herself all too suddenly confronted with a force too positive and too enticing to ignore Sully Pearson, a 48-year old divorcee, ruggedly handsome, and filled with a yet unknown passion desperate for release, seeking his own form of comfort to battle his loneliness. In this novel, 99 Steps, an incredible leap of faith brings these two tragic figures face-to-face and into each others arms.
A modern day erotic romance that plunges Sully and Marie into a mix of suspense, drama, and terror when they are confronted with a complicated, neurotic vixen, Rachel Cherry, who is sworn on revenge of her scorned love. Key elements of new grief and new found love liberate passions once hidden and now suddenly and unexpectedly exposed. Set in a small Midwest town, quirky townsfolk keep this story lighthearted and humorous, delivering a realistic, down-to-earth, believable love story that inspires within us all to give love an opportunity to flourish, even when the timing of this love is not convenient or sensible.
The inspiration for this story is based on my own experiences as a Registered Nurse and in dealing with my own grieving over the loss of my spouse after a 16-year battle with cancer. The sudden impact of having a true gift delivered to me at the worst possible time in my life inspired me to write this novel. It is intended for all who may read it to always be willing to have faith in God and to take a gift for exactly what it is, and treasure it for all time.
